god damnit i was so pissed when i saw that they released leftwich. honestly, why?? his ankle is better than ever, he has a good receiving core, and a #2 defense, all set up for a championship.
im a huge supporter of byron and have always hated garrard, but it seems whoever i talk to they go with garrard over leftwich.
at this point i dont even care if we have a losing season, just so theyll see what a big mistake it was.

Actually Fonkey, I'll pick Leftwich over Garrard any day!
I just can't believe the Jags released him. Have faith Fonkey. I know that the Jags are still your team.;)

Yeah I remember Bryon from his College days. He got carried by 2 linemen because he was hurt. To bad Miami won't pick him. I hate Trent Green and they really shoulda taken Brady Quinn and Drew Brees. Atleast Keep Daunte. Bryon will be great for any team to pick him up. Gerrard is younger and probably the only reason they kept him

actually garrard= 29
byron=27
hell id even take quinn gray over david garrad any day.
that game at marshall where they carried him was classic. it would probably be more remembered if they had won it:(

Going to the Falcons might be probable, Fonkey. But I'm sure plenty of teams are interested in him.
Funny story. Since you told me that the Jags released him, I actually traded for him in Madden 08. I traded some SS and 2 4th Rounders to the Jags for him. The Jags would not accept anything less. Trust me, I tried low-balling them.:p Of course, my team is the Niners. Now it's Leftwich and Alex Smith battling it out!
Side note: I swore Leftwich is faster than what his Madden skills show, right? Speed = 50? He's like a sitting duck *Cough Peyton Manning!:p
Edit: I realized that I had a double post from my first post. I'm not sure what caused this , but I deleted one of them.

For the record: Bag of Balls > Garrard > Leftwich

I think Leftwich got released because he became the scapegoat for the problems. He has had a lot of injuries they aren't gonna get rid of Jack Del Rio because he is a good coach. I think Byron had problems with the upper management to. Great QB you know some will give him a shot and hopefully he shows his true potential.

Well, you said that you hoped he does not sign with Atlanta... and... well, he signed with Atlanta.
"The Atlanta Falcons signed former Jacksonville quarterback Bryon Leftwich on Tuesday, giving the team immediate depth and a potential contender for the starting job."

How do you think I feel? My team is so stupid that they started McCown over Daunte Culpepper and Jamarcus Russel. The spread between the Broncos and Raiders was huge. I believe -12.5 or 12 points basically. We lost by 3 but nooo Kitna throws 3 interceptions.
Regardless, Leftwich is so much better then Garrad. I always supported Leftwich and I thought he had a cannon for an arm. He reminded me so much of Daunte Culpepper/Steve McNair mix. He has a ton of talent.

damn damn damn.
i was really hoping he would go to the ravens, really the only team with potential.
kinda sucks he cant wear #7. i think they should have let him wear it, just to show they are done with vick.

Considering he's on the Raiders, McCown has done better than anyone could have predicted and he deserves to start for the rest of the year. He's taken a dismal team and at least made it respectable in defeat.

I don't think "hybrid of Culpepper and McNair" is a good thing to put on a 2007 resume. If this was 2003, I'd hear you out, but they both suck now. Tremendously.

I'm a huge jaguars fan, have been ever since they got into the league. Can we just have Mark Brunell back?
With regards to Leftwich or Garrard, I would take Garrard over Leftwich simply because he has more mobility. That's just my football mentallity. It's not Garrad's fault that the Jags are doing so bad this year. He has been doing just as good as the top QBs in the league. The run game isn't there right now and the defense isn't putting out. What I dont understand is why Leftwich would wait this long to have surgery on his ankle wich has been bother since he first got in the league.

Hey Fonkey theres alot of other teams that are worse then the jags, like the lions, raiders, and the gaints. (Eli is injured roflcopts). Have faith fonkey. I bet you guys will make it to the playoffs, Jones-Drew is a beast.

I thought the raiders were actually going to do good this year with their first round pick...guess not :p

this is a team that had the #2 defense last year, and an offense that had potential. then to go and get torn up for over 200 rush yards in the first game?
i think that sums up how stupid a move it was to release there franchise QB, who they've repeatedly stood behind, ONE week before the season starts.seriuosly what the hell couldnt they have done that in june, to give leftwich time to find a new team and give garrard enough snaps to get used to the offense? ive read some quotes from players and all of them were shocked. when a guy like fred taylor doesnt like your move thats a bad thing.
saying they are better than the lions raiders etc means nothing, this could have been a super bowl contending team.
i believe this is my longest post ever, sorry.

Ya I know, just trying to cheer you up fonkey.:p
But to be honest, if atlanta was going to give me $8 million dollars, I would go. But ya leftwitch is a big loss to the jaguars.

no doubt.
they havent been put into production yet though. trust me i check everyday:p
from what i hear its number 3, and ill imagine theyll wait until joey harrington implodes on himself(what one 2 weeks from now?) then give him the starting job.
all i know is they better hurry up because im also ordering a maurice jones drew jersey but i have to get them at the same time.

Damn it, I forgot what number he was wearing in practice. ESPN showed a quick clip of him in practice.
Supposedly, Leftwich is the #3 QB backup on the roster. He has to learn the playbook before he can start competing.

No idea. Jaguars should have traded him to the Redskins for Mark Brunell. Then we would have for sure been a playoff contender.
