Ninja track leaders not crashing?

I've noticed when watching the replays of some of the ninja tracks leaders that they can bang their head/back etc... without crashing, where I'm sure if I had done the same it would have resulted in a crash.

I know the guy in evo is a pussy compared to HD, and I'm not accusing anyone of cheating, but it seems unfair what would definitely be a crash for me and after playing plenty of trials to know.

Would love to know if I'm missing something, or is there something more sinister going on?

Some ninja tracks have the hitpoints the bike and rider can take up so that faulting won't happen as easily on some of those obstacles. These settings can be adjusted in the track editor.
