Freedom (Fathom Deep quest)

So I just handed in the 20 Wakestones and the Freedom achievement didn't unlock. The game immediately saved a checkpoint afterward, so I can't reload and try handing them in again.

I'm guessing I just got screwed?

I thought the same thing yesterday, but it's once you jump down and go onto the next quest that it unlocks.

Mine didn't unlock until after the first battle after falling down the hole. Its just a slow achievement I suppose.
