Don't play insane on your first playthrough

Just a little tip to anyone starting off on this game. I've heard once you complete the game, you get New Game+ and you can use cheats so I recommend that for your insane playthrough. I, like a goddamn fool, decided to play insane first and Jesus Christ there are a shitload of frustrating bits. Notably the second from last level which is essentially wave after wave of enemies, and you're unable to stop them as you get stuck in a narrow passage and can't push up to destroy the pods, and even if you could you'd be all out of ammo anyway.

I started on insane to save time. It's beginning to seen like 2 playthroughs would have been a lot quicker.

Thanks for the advice- I just started the game recently and want to get through it without throwing my controller at the tv! Lol
