I was wondering if anyone has bought the special edition and if so, what do you think of it? It looks awesome, but £80 seems a bit steep for what you get.

Well it is a nice package. The bullet keychain is actually really cool (perfect for hiding illegal substances), the DLC will probably be made available in a month or two, which kind of diminishes the special part of this edition. The statue is alright. Facial detail is a little off. The eyes and beard, really.

I believe eighty pounds comes to around one hundred and twenty-five US dollars? I paid $100 for mine, so it seems that maybe you're over-paying. But it will only become harder and harder to find. I'd say try and find some good pictures of the statue. I'd post them myself but I have no idea how to.

I just looked at some unboxing videos on YouTube and the statue does look really nice. I'll probably end up picking it up, like you say, they'll only get rarer and rarer, so it's probably worth it.

They tend to overcharge for special editions in the UK, I think it's because they don't expect people to know the exchange rate.

Thanks.

No, it isn't imo. I wouldn't pay 100 bucks for a shitty plastic figurine. The only real interestin thing is the soundtrack, but I heard it is just a download code, which makes it kind of "worthless". So, I would recommend to not buy the special edition, waste of money!

I love it and i am a sucker for limited editions. However, it isn't the best limited edition out there, that would go to either Gears of war 3 Epic Edition or Skyrim, the detail on those figures are magnificent. Not to mention, they come in with way more goodies then this. The detail on the max payne figure is just good, if not great but it's not amazing.

EDIT: I own limited/collector editions of all those games. So, i am not just talking out of my ass.

your not paying $100 for a "shitty figurine". Your paying $60 for the game and $40 for a nice looking 10 inch statute, the soundtrack, cool golden bullet key chain, and couple dlc packs that give exclusive mulitplayer characters and weapons. It's worth the price. Whether or not you feel like paying an extra $40 on it is up to you.
Like it or not, the max payne statute is worth at least $40 on its own. And why does it matter if the soundtrack is code or a disc? It doesn't change the way you listen to it.

They didn't have the special edition at my local store, so I just bought the regular one. I do love special editions though, so I might shop around and just trade this one in if I find it.

I dunno, I saw the satue up close the other day and the details look way, way off. It didn't even look like Max imo, either in game or from the artwork. The key chain and photographs are pretty cool though.

Yeah, as i said. If you compare this with the Dragon Figure from Skyrim or Marcus Figure from GOW3 then the Max Payne figure would look like a big happy meal toy from mcdonalds. But then again, this is 100$ and those were 150$
