Question about starting a new game

It says if I start a new game my progress will be overwritten, so does that mean that if I start a new game all the levels in chapter select will be locked before I complete them again?

Does it state all progress or just "checkpoint progress" ? If your unsure just make a copy of your save to a different storage. Better to be safe than sorry.

It says current level progress, but I just beat the game and i'm not really on any level. Anyway, i'll try doing that just to be safe.

Nope, all my progress from my previous playthrough is still there.
