stupid question about saving

so i was playing for a while then had to go so i saved and exited, yet when i load it back up i start back at the spawn area with no inventory, how the heck do i save and exit while keeping my stuff?

Are you sure you didn't start a new world?

positive, saved and exited. then when i restarted i was back at original spawn with no inventory, trees and stuff that i cut down were still gone but so was all my stuff

Did you purchase minecraft on that Xbox account, by any chance? Because I'm playing on one bought on another user, same xbox.

only account on the box, very annoying. i just deleted the world and made a whole new one and the same thing happens. i collect, save before exiting then when i reload i'm back at starting point with nothing....

just deleted everything and redownload and still doing the same thing, well this certainly sucks. guess i won't be playing this game today :/
