Online Free Roam?

Does anyone know if this game will feature online free roam in between matches like GTA4 and Red Dead?

I doubt it. Both Red Dead and GTA are free roam games, Max Payne isn't.

This game has competitive Multiplayer and Max Payne has never been free roam so no.

GTA and Red Dead also never had multiplayer before their recent versions, and then when they got multiplayer in GTAIV and Redemption, they each came with free roam.

It's pure speculation for either argument, but I wouldn't be at all surprised if there was a free roam-like lobby while waiting for games to start at least.

I wouldn't mind a type of free roam lobby in this game. I would love to be able to just walk around and look at the level design without being shot at.

No it does not just Multiplayer versus. Rookie DM, TDM etc then DM TDM etc then Hardcore which you have to get 5000 kills to unlock. They also have Gang wars and you can join all types of games when ever you want. They keep stats for you and the gang and you get a little bit more xp for being in one.

The online is fun and you can customize your character and loadouts. The more you carry the slower health regen and stamina. There are already some pretty high ranked players, I have already seen one person who was level 50 but he was trash.

I never expected there to be free roam in the sense that you go online and just run around one area shooting stuff.

Obviously Max Payne does not just take place in one giant area like GTA and Red Dead, but I thought for the sake of multiplayer there would be a "free roaming area" while waiting for matches to start and such.

Maybe Rockstar will have a server reset for all those people who maxed everything out before the game's release date.

Max Payne isn't free roam and it doesn't make much sense for max payne. No. If max payne was free roam then they might do that but R* doesn't just shoehorn in (s)h*t from other games just because it worked for those games.

I've only played SP so far but I was wondering have you played uncharted 2 or 3 MP? From the videos I've seen this kinda looks like it will be like that. Is it like uncharted's MP or is it it's own beast? If it is like uncharted that would be a good thing. It's sounds like the bursts are just like the boosters in uncharted MP. I'm super psyched for MP.
