I watched the 3-4 min video on g4tv.com and all I saw was something rolling around collecting things to it's body. What is the point of this game?

You just summed up the point of the game. Not supposed to be life-changing, but it's damn fun.

As a parent, One could find some redemption in a game like this that does not reward killing or otherwise hurting anyone (note: rolling people up in a katamari is silly but never perceived as harmful). Not that I don't like those kind of games but its kind of nice to see good quality games that anyone can enjoy that are not speciacally designed to suck (ie: any kids movie turned in to a game). Calling this game retardard is a callow move that displays ignorance. Not every game is catered to you and whatever floats your boat but to disrespect anything that you can't see the point of is a disservice. Katamari is also a game my wife and I have been able to enjoy together (originally on the ps2). If a game can evoke more quality time spent between couples or family, more power to it. I look forward to its multiplayer modes as well.

Why don't you just d/l the demo and play the game to find out yourself? Once you play it, you'll love it.

Once you start playing its very hard to stop. Great game you should try the demo out.

:uzi:I'm glad someone enjoyed this game, because it made me want to shove shards of glass in my eyes. i hated it and sometimes weep at night that i spent time playing it. the only time i would recommend this game is to someone that i truly hate and want them to get a preview of hell.... (i may be a little dramatic) :)

This is a game for people that like random craziness. You should never be asking yourself why in this game. Why are all those things sticking to the ball? Why do I want to make the ball bigger? Try to avoid reasoning and enjoy the sillyness of the game. I don't see what there is to hate about this game. This game is supposed to be fanciful and crazy, that is what makes it exciting.

Every Katamari game is simply, pure, trippy fun. Nothing more or less.

I agree, this is one of the most bizarrely addictive games I have ever played.. brilliant!

Is there like a story, or it's just kind of like an arcade where you just do different levels but do the same exact thing, this won't be 60$ I'm assuming?

You should not play a Katamari game to see its story. You should play it to experience its weirdness. This game may not be worth $60, but you can always rent it multiple times instead of buying it.

The game is 40, not 60. Katamari is all about having fun and collecting as much shit as you can to built a bigger star/planet.
People are very ignorant when it comes to this game. They either think it's gay or just say it sucks because it looks different. Funny part they talk all this shit and they haven't even give the game a chance at all. People are so stupid now days.

It could be $60 if you include the cost of the download levels. In any case, this game will be fun and worth the wait.

When people say this is the most retarded game etc.... they really need to stop taking things so seriously. It's a fun random game that's it. Probably not deep enough for people who need 733t skillz and ph33r and all that other crap in their games. It's 40 bucks, it seems like it patches itself instantly for 1250 points, and it's a break from all the FPS on the 360. I think Kingdom Hearts is a pretty retarded/overrated game, but to each his own. This game is basicly an Acid Trip without the Acid but with catchy music.

First, Kingdom Hearts is cool. Second, anyone who says Katamari is lame and retarded has never played Bomberman: Act 0 or most superhero games (I'm looking at you, Superman 64).

It's definitely not a game with a huge story line, beautiful graphics, but the simplicity in the ingenious gameplay, is well worth the money.
It kinda reminds me of viva pinata... Almost everyone I talked to said they hated the game and when I asked, "have you played it" the answer was always no. It's different which will be the games selling point as well as the weakness of the title.
Someone said this game will have 1250 pts? As you can tell I'm a gamerscore addict... Is this true?

It is true. However, you will have to download context to get all 1250 points.

The point is this, we should all expand our minds and try something different for once. Why must every game be a FPS where the main idea is to Not Die...or find the hidden skull up on some hill that you wouldn't have a chance in hell finding yourself if it weren't for YouTube. No offense to the original poster here but I'm sick of FPS games...except for F.E.A.R. that's genius.

Funny you mention that because I was playing Beautiful Katamari, I did a vid (myspace) to it and some dude was pissed saying OH YOU PLAY THIS GAY SHIT AND YOU GO SAY HALO 3 IS OVERRATED and all this crap. Halo fans in general just like Sony fanboys, real ignorant people but oh well, there are a lot of dumb hard headed people in this world.

The game is genius, it reminds me of Napolean Dynamite ia little in the way that there's no real point, no swearing, no violaence, no political undertone, nothing sexual just really stupid fun for the whole family. And an amazing soundtrack to boot.
If you bash this game without trying it because it looks a certain way, shame on you as a gamer...everyone always complains that games need to get better and they need to stop putting out crap that ends up being the same well look no further then the consumer, and the fact that Beautiful Katamari will never sell as much as Hour Of Victory.

It's nice to have an a "original" I.P. on the 360. Yes, I know it was on PS2. But, I loved the first two, and now with on-line multi player, just make it that much better. It's kind of a quirky game to have fun with. Along the lines of Dynasty Warriors. Sometimes, you just don't want to think so much.

It's just fun. It's ridiculous the amount of fun that can be had playing any of the three Katamari games. I remember when my friend told me about the first one all those years ago and I was like, "Huh?". Then I bought it and played it and was hooked. Always trying to look for a better way to get a bigger Katamari!

I've never played Katamari but I would like to. It seems fun.
