Yes I was able to get several while it was activated on Silent Hill 3 as far as 2 goes I don't know if it has one but I doubt it.

Yeah, it has one. That's what I'm playing on, I just don't know if I will be able to get achievements, but if you did on SH 3 then I'm sure it's the same for SH2. thanks

Oh cool if that has one that's even better hopefully the achievements still unlock which your probably right that they will too. This is especially helpful since 2 has harder achievements than the third one.

You can. I unlocked some ending/item achievements while running through the game on beginner

All Achievements except "Who needs a Gun?" can be done on Action Level: Beginner.
