Has anyone figured out a really fast way to level 99? So far, I've been playing in Quick mode vs a Yoshimitsu style opponent so I can get easy ring outs. But it seems to be going really slowly.

I was going to post this very thread myself lol. Anyway, I think the best way to earn experience is probably going through Arcade on Easy. You get about 100 or so experience per match, and then an extra 200 for beating it. So about 800-900 or so experience per arcade run. If you can do it fast enough, you can do it in about 5 minutes. If anyone else has a better idea, tell me, but I think it's the best way to do it.

I agree Arcade mode is the one that I seem to level up quickest in, esp. with the 200 pts for completing. I don't mind going for this achievement its the movement one that's a real ball ache, I can't believe people already have that. I've played 30-40 hours I think and have about 10,000 steps. Stupid achievement.

I know how you feel with the Wind of Battle achievement. 90 hours and I have 27,792 meters. And that's with me kinda grinding that out. I probably wouldn't have a lot of that if some of my time wasn't grinding it out with a friend or in arcade.
I should also mention that in 90 hours, I'm only at level 76. Not sure if its because I've played a lot online or not, but it seems around here doing arcade twice seems to level me once.

I wrote up a solution on TA. Here's how I did it.
Note: Some SC terminology will be used in this solution.
A: Horizontal Attack (X button)
B: Vertical Attack (Y button)
K: Kick (B button)
G: Guard (A button)
It's recommended that you attempt this last (or close to it), as working on other achievements will give you the exp you need to level up.
First you'll want to go into Quick Battle and find an opponent named Rangi. He's an E5 Dampierre character in Japan who uses the Entranced by Death title. Get familiar with Rangi, because you're going to be spending a lot of time with him.
1st Method:
Pick Astaroth or a custom character imitating his style. As soon as the fight starts, spam the unblockable version of his Tornado Spike (Forward, Forward+A, hold B). Rangi will rarely (if ever) make any attempt to avoid or counter this attack. You should be able to end a round in three uses of this move, maybe two if you can catch him on a counter for both attacks. An average round should take about seven ticks of the timer. This method is also very useful for racking up Perfects for the Parrier of Swords achievement, but if you're at the point where reaching Level 99 is your primary concern, you've more than likely already gotten your fifty Perfects.
2nd Method:
The second method takes slightly less time per round, but is more skill-dependent as far as button commands goes.
Pick a custom character using the Devil Jin style. When the round starts, open with a Hell Spiral (Forward, Forward+K, A, K). It doesn't matter if it connects or not; you just need to push Rangi back. Once he gets up, use a Dragon Uppercut and immediately go into the Heaven's Door throw (Forward, Down, Down/Forward [like a Shoryuken motion]+A, hold Up before the punch connects). Heaven's Door should pick Rangi right up off his feet and force him into a Ring Out. He'll rarely attempt to dodge it, but he might block it. Even if he blocks it, he should be pretty close to the edge and a quick Flash Punch Combo (A, A, B) should send him right over. An average round will take about five ticks of the timer with this method. As a bonus, because you didn't win the second round by knockout, you won't have to wait for the stage transition where the background ship destroys part of the stage. This method is also very useful for racking up Ring Outs for the Hands of the Abyss achievement, but if you're at the point where reaching Level 99 is your primary concern, you've more than likely already gotten your fifty Ring Outs.
Using either of these methods will likely rush that character to the top of your Total Style Usage, so if you're a stat monkey, you may want to keep that in mind.
Arcade usually I do leg sweep with Xiba for half of the ring out, and complete a run through on normal in 3-5 minutes and through that I get like 1k xp per run. Fastest way for me anyways.

That Astaroth - Rangi trick works nicely. Tedious, but nice; roughly 1700exp every 5 minutes - 7 seconds per round, 21 seconds per match, 110ish exp every match - 330ish exp per minute (3 matches).

Sorry I accidentally made a thread without seeing this.
Use nightmare in quick battle against c5 sigfried Ozanius.
Go left and he will rush you. Use b+g throw for easy ring out. Takes 4 seconds. He will never guard the throw. Maybe once every 15 rounds e does something weird, but no biggie.

Switch Y and A buttons around in your button config, stick the game on arcade mode on easy, keep hitting A over and over again (it will be horizontal attack now).. when arcade finishes you'll still be pressing A so it will go back into arcade mode again. Do this with controller in hand while you're watching TV or something and just go check up on it every so often. You'll get better results using a character like Raphael.. and even better results using a turbo controller.

This is by far, the BEST way to do it. It's tedious, but it's easy AND fast. Thank you SO so so much.

Great way to reach lv99 without effort.
0) Get a stick/controller with Turbo fire (hopefully you already have one)
1) Set 'B Attack' to the confirm button. (Like the X button for PS3)
2) Go to Quick Match, pick Pyrrha or Raphael.
3) Find an E-Ranked Player who uses a low-damage style, like Patroklos or Leixia.
4) Keep the confirm button pressed down with a heavy object.
During Matches, you'll spam B Attack, which will make short work of the E-Ranked Quick Match players. After matches, because the Confirm Button is being pressed down, you'll automatically confirm on the first option: Rematch. Thus, you'll gain win and win without having to do anything at all, getting yourself tons of XP - and likely a few trophies/achievements as well, such as the Perfect Wins award and others.

That's exactly what I just said like, 2 posts ago.. just your version gets XP slower because you don't get the bonus for completing arcade each time.

As can mine... the joys of a turbo controller. Either way, I agree with you, turbo controller + either arcade or quick battle = laziest (therefore easiest) way to 99.
