So i've been searching google and these forums but no one is talking about what paradigms they use and when.
I don't know if i'm using them correctly, but I start a normal battle as com/com and use the full atb, once empty I switch to rav/rav.
So using com/com the stagger bar doesn't decrease as fast.
Rav/rav then builds it up quicker and by switching paradigm my atb goes full straight away.
I then keep it on rav/rav until the targets dead and repeat.
Also because of this i'm levelling both noel and sarah with rav and they both use this the most to inflict damage.
Is this the best way or is there others, im winning normal fights without the need to use syn, sab and sen. 90% of the time i;m getting 5 star also.

I usually enter fights with COM/COM/COM (third being the monster). I use this against normal fights as most monsters are weak.
If the monster has some resistence, i'll switch to RAV/RAV/RAV for a bit then to COM/RAV/RAV. You only need 1 hit as a COM to slow down the stagger meter, so having the other 2 as RAV helps as it continues to build the meter as the COM person slows down the rate at which the meter falls.
Eventually you'll have battles where you'll need to use SEN/MED so you can heal while one person goes sentinel to increase defense and take all the hits.
As for the final SAB and SYN roles. I have SAB/SYN/MED so i get healed while i apply buffs and debuffs.
com com com for basic fights, for bosses, rav rav rav usually go up to 500 then switch to com rav rav, and destroy from there. I only used sab and synergist for one fight and that was to 5 star a rare monster.

i might be a little too cautious compared to theswe guyd buit for basic fights i go in with either a rav rav com or rav com med
for harder fights i always ahave a med med med , a syn sab and med and syn sab and sab......plus my normal rav rav com and rav com med...
just reread your post... your doing it wrong you HAVE TO HAVE A RAV AND COM.. your rav builds up the stagger bar .. your com makes it decrease it slower... so basicaly your best if you want to get that stagger bar up is to have two ravs and a com.. but ive always found a high leveleled up rav and a high levveled up com and a med for basic enemies is the best.

why the need for a medic on trash mobs? i feel that would actually slow you down overall compared to com/rav/rav or com/com/com
you dont -have- to have com/rav active to build the stagger bar quickly... as you said it already:
Com stabilizes the stagger bar
Rav fills stagger bar
so, if your only purpose is to fill the bar, then Rav x3 is good, but you do run the risk of losing it between attacks.
Rav x3 can be a very useful strategy if you know how to use it properly.. Personally i dont use it though.

I just beat the game on easy mode....without EVER using a syn or a sab (noel, serah, or monster)
On normal they're probably much more helpful, but I never ran into an enemy I couldn't just beat into the ground bluntly...and still cleared 5-star ratings on all the required bosses.
Generally, I started with RAV COM RAV (noel com), but for boss fights I'd use RAV COM SEN (assuming the boss can be provoked/challenged) and COM COM SEN.
Once the boss is staggered, either back to R C R or C C C.

What I use:
Com/com/com (kill the peons, full out assault on staggered enemy, and slow the fall of stagger bar when needed)
rav/rav/rav (raise the stagger bar as fast as possible)
Com/rav/sen (used againest large hordes or strong bosses that can do lots of damage fast, slows stagger fall)
rav/rav/sen (used againest strong enemies/bosses to raise bar fast)
sen/med/med (emergency health pack)
sab/syn/sen (buff/debuff for the real OP bosses, also sab helps slow down the enemy stagger bar fall)
Been effective so far but i haven't gotten super far in the story yet so it might need tweaking in certain later fights. But other than that this is one of the better all-situations list you'll find.

The best paradigm is IMO:
Com (Noel)/Rav/Rav
What this one you can beat enemies from sudden encounters within seconds, unbelieveable powerful. It's also my start paradigm.
Against stronger bosses I also use:
Com/Com/Com (using this one after the R/R/R only, just to make fast damage)
Rav/Rav/Rav (fast shocking)
Syn/Heal/Heal (fast healing and meanwhile buffing)
Rav/Sab/Heal (slow heal while someone keeps the shock alive and someone else weakens the enemy)
I've been with those through FF13 (except the farming stuff) and the mainpart of FF13-2 easily... just stick to Com/Rav/Rav and you won't do anything wrong.

Same applies to normal sadly. :( Only some of the side bosses seem to prove difficult, and even then, only marginally.
