I tried the trial and it is a pretty good game, not as clear as the first game in terms of instructions but there is a bit more to do. The trial is stupidly short though, one level of marathon just isn't enough.

The battle mode it awesome! If you get the full version, I will play you!

Battle mode is the real star of the game. I would go as far as to say its in par with Puzzle Fighter in that catagory. The new pieces are pretty cool. Sometimes the lag can get annoying. I hate how in rank mode, I can choose whether or not I am ready, can't choose if I want to face a certain player, or even see who they are until the end of the match. They really need to add a way to see player names in-game because when a game starts, half the time I am not sure what side I am on until i start to move the cursor.
