Clearing a providence.....

Is this done by doing all the green and all the yellow missions over and over? I have done 17 and only have 2 providences. What am I doing wrong?

As I recall, they are provinces, not providences. Anyway, if you look at the province map, you can see which towns/cities are in each province. You have to incite rebellion in them (green dots on the map) enough to tilt the power of the province to the rebellion. The yellow dots are for the drug cartel, and do not affect the province government.

Look for the green symbols that contain a little tent sign, thats the main base in the province - clear that one and another "normal" base near it to claim the province - you dont need to do every single 1, just 2 in each.

If you do happen to clear out Providence though, I wouldn't mind in the slightest.

Every Providence is consisted of enemy bases which you have to capture..Ive got the 1000 like almost 2 years ago but i think the green was your providence which u control and the yellow are the onse u have to capture?? i believe..

The side missions that you are most likely doing are a total different achievement.
