Can anyone confirm, if I download this, it wont work on my PAL game?

I'm not sure whether it'll work or not. Sometimes it does (e.g. Lost Odyssey's DLCs) and sometimes it doesn't. At least it shows up in English on my Hard Drive, so perhaps it's going to work with NTSC and PAL copies of the game as well?

There hasn't been word about any DLC being released in the west yet. Except for the Xbox exclusive weapon of course.

Omega is a pre-order bonus from Amazon US and part of of the steelbook pre-order for UK/Aus.

I pre odered mine from gamestation, they gave me the steal book, some artcards, i little book which explores the events taking place between ff13 and ff13-2 and dlc code for omega / and alternate costums for serha and noel, there and then when I paid my deposit.

They did. They had a Seraphic Bow for Serah, which is so far the only truely unique DLC weapon and the Calamity Blade weapon for Noel which is only available in the west as part of the Nordic Edition.

They also had a few accessories that were giving for buying things other then the game that gave some pretty good effects.

After watching an Omega fight on youtube I have mixed feelings.

On one hand the boss fight does look like it's something of a challenge that your only likely to be able to do when your in the post-game with near max characters. Which is a good thing for a super-boss fight.

But that also means that by time he joins the party you will have very little game content to actually use him with and what use you do have for him will likely only be against enemies much weaker then he was which isn't that great.

There has been an Omega in a lot of the games in various incarnations. The Omega from this game is a throwback to the first appearance which Omega was in FFV

I was really shocked when I saw that this'll be a free DLC, at least for the time being, in another program. I had my preorder with Amazon for FFXIII-2 because of the absurd price of Amazon's previous Square DLC preorder for Tifa's alt costume in 012. But now I'm considering canceling and ordering elsewhere.

From what I've read Omega is a pretty terrible party member which is a little disappointing. Apparently he has the equivelent of Leadenstrike/Ironstrike from FF13 and his Feral Link leaves him debuffed when used. He does have pretty decent stats but not high enough to make up for this issues.

My guess when it comes out is when the game comes out, as I'll probably be trying to redeem my codes for the downloadable stuff, so long as Game remembers to send it with it.. heard they're bad with that now, but they haven't disappointed me yet (the website, the store has however).

Also, seen this battle ages ago.. so Japan's had this DLC since release I think?

I wouldn't worry about this too much. Has anyone played the demo on XBL? I just finished the demo and at the very end of finishing the demo, they tease Omega with a little cutscene showing him, followed by some subtitles saying that the marketplace will have additional boss battles and more for the coliseum. In others words, this means that Omega will be available for download on the marketplace and some point, if not at launch.

Well, this is weird. I downloaded (& removed, then redownloaded) the Japanese Omega DLC. It shows up in the Coliseum, but when I select it, the game stays on a black screen & the music just keeps playing. So I don't know if the game just has trouble trying to recognize the DLC since it's meant for the Japanese version, or if there's just something weird w/ my copy.
