How Do You Beat Old Mawood?

I've read in the Wotnot that you have to throw one of those shells with Pummelweed and then when Old Mawood laugh you have to throw a rock into his mouth. But the thing is I I can't find the time to do that. When he laughs he get's right back up and shakes the Trolls out of his 'hair'. Please! Help!

Edit: Turns Out I was chipping rocks at him at the wrong time. I was trying to chip rocks at him when he leaned back after you hit him with the shell thing...Man was I wrong...

Yeah it only takes me about a minute to beat him. I don't even look at the trolls though I just go right for him.

I still need to beat him in co-op again but no one plays the game.
