Being from Rochester, i've seen all of the talent of Buffalo come up through the Amerks, and it pains me to see the Sabres fall short year after year. This year was hands down their best team in awhile. Young, Fast, and EXTREMELY talented, they had the tools and means to win a Cup, however fell short. Then they trade their talent on the hopeful prospects of their youthful team.

My opinion: Sabres will finish 3rd in the Eastern Conference, Ottawa takes the Cup, simply because they are a force to be reckoned with...Who do you think will take it in this wonderful 07/08 season?!

if you think Ottawa is a huge force, then obviously you think they'll take the North East division. Meaning the best the Sabres could do is 4th in the east, seeing as the top three seeds go to division leaders. Personally I think Ottawa has one last chance this season, and then their team is in trouble, because Heatly is going to ask for waaay more than hes making now.

Good call, i meant fourth but was typing third for some reason. Heatly is probably their 4th or 5th best player, and even if they lose him i think they still possess the talent to take it down. The Rangers will be a formidable foe however, with Lundqvist, Drury, and Callahan ( who is from Rochester). Either way the Sabres better hold tight to what talent they have left...

My money is on the Penguins to win it all.

In short: No.

At length: While the losses of Briere and Drury are great, the Sabres still possess a potent enough offense to do serious damage and a highly competent defense, capitalized by an supreme goaltender. However, they lost their best pure scorer and best two-way player, both of whom inspired the other skaters. They have enough left in the tank to make the playoffs, but anything above a seventh place finish in the East is out of reach. I predict them to lock up the eighth seed and be out of the playoffs in six games.

I don't get into the stats/trades/business of hockey. I just love to watch the game. My picks, in order of favorites:

1. Sabres
2. Hurricanes
3. Penguins.

The Sabres, like the Bills, seem to be doomed to never win a title. I've been a fan of both teams ever since I was a kid, and have been disappointed for years on end. Any time either team gets any talent, they lose them within a year or two. It's hard to stay a fan, but I hope to see at least one of those teams win a title before I die. Chances are slim. :(

Yeh i dont think either team will win by next tuesday,
so the chances are slim to say the least.
:p

I dont think either team will ever win,
they are both 1 of these teams destined not to.

I believe the Leafs have a great chance this year. Would have loved to see Peca in Toronto but. Toskala is a way better goalie then Raycroft so they might have a shot if Sundin has another great year!
