Stuck on Skull Island level (1), anyone else experience this?

First and foremost let me say its very embarrassing to admit I'm stuck on the very first level of what is supposed to be a terrible easy game. At this point I'm trying to determine if I'm at fault or possibly the game is faulty. Here is what is going on...

The issue is when I reach the first gate that needs opened by pushing the pillars Anne and Carl are supposed to start filming the first scene which causes creatures to come out. Well that Jack Black son of a bitch won't set down the camera to start filming, he just stands there. And of course I can't shoot him like I want to. Either way I can get the gate open when I do this they won't follow me only Hayes does; Anne and Carl just stand there.
So I save the game, and reload it, the gate is open with Hayes, Carl, and Anne there. They'll run to the cliff where the plane goes overhead and drops the shotgun crate. When I go down to get it they'll follow and Carl sets his camera up at the cliff. This is where I currently get stuck. I know where to go, what to do, but those bastards won't follow me and there isn't anything I can do about it that I know of. Did you guys have any issues with this game (if you've played it)? I'm just wondering if its just something I'm not doing right or if its the game disc thats messed up by chance. I'm really at a loss as right now this King Kong game is pwning me. :(

I've come to the conclusion there has to be something wrong with the disc. I've read walkthroughs, watched the walkthrough videos and duplicated all of the above. The AI just doesn't do as its supposed to, I've also had a few of the white "Please insert an Xbox 360 disc" screens when I start this game up. I'll just take it back and pick it up some where else another time.

Did you rent it? I rented it from Gamefly, and during half the game, the audio was screeching noises, that made me cry even when the volume was almost muted. Not surprised lots of the discs have bad things, since so many people play it and return it after getting 1 k

Yes, it was rented. I'm not about to purchase this game after hearing how terribly its made, plus after experiencing this issue it makes me not want to rent it ever again even if it is an easy 1K. There was another member who emailed me about this with the same issue, they cleaned the disc with a cleaner and were able to progress through the game without other interruptions.

King Kong, when I rented it, was a really glitchy game. Just try your best to clean the disc, if the glitch where people don't respond keeps happening, just ask for another disc.

yea this game was quite annoying! i had a similar glitch which i hear happens quite often, when the plane comes 2 save jimmy he wouldn't get on it. i left the controller for about 10 mins... he was still there. then i stepped on the head of a dead dinosaur and i took damage and he got on the plane.. WTH? THIS GAME SUCKS BTW!!!

wow, this makes me wonder whether I should rent it or not, given the risks and the fact that I have so many little bits all over the place as it is with gamescore.

To be honest, i didnt even know there were any glitches or cheats for this game. When me and my friend both played this we did not encounter and problems and it was a pretty easy 1k GS.

Definately means there's a problem with the disc i'm afraid :)
