Barry Bonds hit HR #755 tonight against the San Diego Padres, which ties him for first all-time in Home Runs.

Alex Rodriguez hit HR #500 against the Kansas City Royals this afternoon making him only the 22nd man to hit 500 Home Runs.

Oh god, Bonds got it already? :mad: That totally sucks, I really wish he hadn't gotten it.

I'm glad for A Rod, I think he deserves getting the 500 more than Bonds does for getting 755. GO YANKEES! :D

oh definately A-Rod 500>Bonds 755.

-You know A-Rod did it legit.
-A-Rod will one day hold the HR Record. (On his current pace, he'll have 800 HR in 6 years.)
-Well.... NYY>SF YANKEES FOR LIFE!!!

Griffey is ahead of Bonds by almost 50 homeruns at the age group....just imagine what he could have done

I dont think it matters to much because A-Rod is going to hit around 800 by the end of his career. And hey, Barry Bonds is innocent until proven guilty so for now, congrats and maybe he will break the record tomorrow.

Asterisk.

A simple little dot, but it sure would make me happy if they put it on Bond's record, stating that he has hit most of his home runs in the midst of huge steroid abuse era and he's been in the middle of it all.

Maybe they will never find out if he took steroids but there is a lot of evidence that suggests he did.

Bonds Stats from 2000-2007

2000=49 HR's
2001=73 HR's
2002=46 HR's
2003=45 HR's
2004=45 HR's(Stopped Steroids)
2005=5 HR's(due to injury?)
2006=26 HR's
2007=21 HR's

hrmmm pretty suspicious, is it not?

1 INJURY cannot drop your average by 20, I'm sorry but that's not possible.

And I cannot wait, Bonds doesn't deserve #1.

Well besides the obvious things, like never hitting more than 49 hr's then all of a sudden hitting 73, increased batting avg, slugging pct, bases taken, hr's etc. all when he was nearing 40. But here's the kicker, his head grew....that doesn't happen naturally.

But all that aside, the true reason I hate Bonds is because he is an arrogant asshole.

I think people also don't want to see a legend, like Hank Aaron, fall. Even if you take away the steroids, it's easier now a days. Smaller parks, smaller strike zone, harder balls, etc.

Although I am a die hard Mets and Red Sox fan, I believe that A-Rod has the potential and youth to get as far as the first person to get 800 homeruns. I also don't think Bonds doesn't deserve 1st place. I like the Giants and all, but there's been way too much controversy between him and his possible use of steroids, so I believe that A-Rod can and will hold the homerun record.

Im not defending bonds, but he has way less At Bats in 06 and 07 then he did in previous years.

Also I noticed he never had a 50 hr season, but all of a sudden he had a 73 HR year, WTF?!?! ROIDS!

WTF? "die hard Mets and Red Sox fan" that can't happen you can't be a DIE HARD fan of 2 teams, and especially those 2 teams don't mix....

i dont agree with steriods but i do give credit to bonds for achieving an incredible feat. there is no proof that he did steriods, but im sure he did look at his rookie card and him now, but that is besides the point he is still an outstanding athlete that has an amazing ablity to make contact with a pitch thrown by a major league pitcher. he should be respected as an athlete, and does it really matter that he tied hank aaron he wont have the title for long with a-rod around
