My only suggestion is don't get it on your wrist unless you've already got a bunch of tattoos. Always get your first in a "hiding" spot, then go from there. Also, ask yourself if the tattoo will still have meaning to you when you've got kids and you grow old and especially if you'll even like it then, because it is forever.

As for ideas; How about a gear surrounding a spartan helmet?

i have and i want something that has meaning id rather get a game tattoo because its seomthing im passionate about i figured i want a tattoo and what better to get than something to do with my passion. its better than getting some stoopid ass tribal thing or chinese words just cause it looks cool and has no meaning.

@ Magooush: dude i like your idea thats getting jotted down

I definately don't think you should get a tattoo just to get one.

I have been working on the design for my 2 tattoos that I will get for over 3 years now, because I want them to be perfect, because like Pants said, they are forever.

Also, something my friend did before he got a cross on his wrist, was he drew it in everyday with sharpie (yes, kinda lame) but he did that for a few months and learned to live with it being so visable, his other tat is on his back.

Perhaps try something like that out to make sure that you like the location of the tattoo before committing.

Maybe just the Gears symbol, like your avatar?

Maybe just the Gears symbol, like your avatar?

That's what I was thinking. It'd be simple, and if you really liked it you could put something more elaborate with it later on.

Getting a wrist tattoo is always going to be risky, it's only perfect in a certain position. It will look weird in any other position.

When you're old, you're wrinkly, so you won't get pussy anyways, y'know?

It's got nothing to do with that. If you're 70, 80, whatever and you're stuck with tattoos you hate and you begin to regret things, your last years won't be pleasant.

Getting a gaming related tattoo is the ultimate sign of becoming a geek.

This could be a new geek craze. :)

If you aren't sure what kind of tattoo to get, then don't get one. Wait until you know what you want, don't leave it up to anyone else. It's you thats going to have to look at it every day. When you have a solid idea of what you'd like to have, then go to the tattoo shop. Ask one of the people there to help you out.

Many tattoo artists are really good at other forms of art, they can usually help your idea along and draw up a design for you. Thats a hell of alot better then settling for something just because it was 'sort of' what you wanted...

Get dotted lines around your neck and put cut here in small print by it. But on a serious note you could get the crimson omen on your wrist or maybe the locust symbol.

Isn't there a laser surgery that removes them now?

im not getting just to get one im getting it becoz i want toNo, that's getting one just to get one. Listen, if you're going to sell crack and make 20000 a year, tattoos are fine, but if you're going to live in the real world don't do anything big or stupid or both, and certainly don't tattoo yourself anywhere a business shirt won't cover.

I've wanted a tattoo for ages and I still haven't got one. You know why? Because I'm skeptical. When you're skeptical about your tattoo that means you shouldn't get it. Think long and hard. I've been thinking about mine since I was 16 and I still haven't got it and I'm not sure I still want to get it. I picked two things I really really want and I know I'm passionate about. I'm extremely competitive so I picked Vini,Vici,Vidi as a wording I want. Then I have this strange obsession since I was like 8 with drama masks. I still haven't figured out how I want it done and it may very well be 10 years down the road that I finally figure it out. I don't want to laser it off or regret it, so I would rather be stuck in the thought process rather then oh I want that and get it done.

I went and got 1 when i was 16,
(i dont know how, i looked about 12)
Luckily its only small,
and i cant see it otherwise id wish i didnt have it.

Make sure you get something you want,
as a few years later you do regret it at times.

As for the post about laser surgery,
pew pew,
Laser surgery apparently hurts like hell and its very expensive.

I've got them all over. I had no trouble getting a professional job but it's something you want to keep in mind. Some places frown on it. I just got lucky.

Get it on your upper shoulder or something. Somewhere that can easily be hidden. Then you can see how you feel about it and then move forward from there. At least that's what I did.
