View Full Version : The Trick to S-S is the Limiter Break

I managed to 100% this game yesterday after spending a long time getting nowhere close on Crazy Box S-S, no matter how hard I tried or how perfect my run was I'd always be in the red by the second checkpoint.
So i watched the videos and wondered why the car on there went so much faster and jumped so much higher than mine, even though I was always crazy dashing (Release accelerator -> Shift into 'D' (Don't shift into 'R' just press the B button) -> Pull accelerator) and everything. In the end I looked through the menus and stuff and realized the car in the video wan't crazy dashing, it was Limiter Breaking! And... when I discovered this I earned the achievement in about 5 tries xD I'll admit I'm surprised I haven't seen anyone even mention it here from what I've seen, always talking about dashes... so just in case, here's how to limiter break:

(Putting the vibrate on helps with this)
Start by making sure you're at a good speed and then crazy dash, the controller will vibrate if it worked, when you feel the vibration wait about half a second and then switch into 'R' then back into 'D' quickly, this performs the Limiter Break and the car should now speed up significantly for a short while until you have to Limiter Break again and providing you don't crash too much, following the route on the video in that other thread you should easily have at least 5 seconds left.

Is there any way to know it's working besides trying to eyeball that we're going faster? ****ing developers could have put a damn SPEEDOMETER in the game, at least for this stage. I'm driving around arcade mode trying to the limiter, but can't tell if I'm doing it right besides when I hear the squeal of a crazy drift. Never hated a developer so much since Dead Rising....

Edit: If people can learn the LC, kudos to them, but I finally beat this by simply adding reverse to the Crazy Dash. I noticed immediately it's better after the taxi was doing MUCH bigger jumps at the beginning. Seeing the green in the distance twice and hitting a stupid oncoming car was torture, but I finally beat this after a LOT of attempts (I unlocked the first avatar award before beating this).

Yeah, adding a reverse to a regular crazy dash executes the limiter cut, you were doing all along xD
