This is going to be an amazing game plain and simple. I am a die hard Blues fan and despise the Reds, however this could be the game of the year depending on how the standings regular season shake down. Tevez is set to announce a possible deal Today or Tomorrow with Manchester United, which would add a whole new dimension to the already talented side.

On the Blues side, Ballack is rehabbing nicely and Shevchenko is slated to have a huge year, as well as the recent 5-year extension of Terry. Hopefully Sheva scores a beaut like he did in last years game v. Liverpool.

I honestly believe that, if Chelsea is leading the league towards the end of the season this preseason game could be the game of the season. What are your feelings for Sunday's big match-up?

The Charity Shield is a waste of time, the games are normally shit.

This game of the season- absolutly no chance in hell

IMO it will just be a game where the two managers see what works with their new players. No one trying too hard.

My prediction 1-0 either way...

I'm a United supporter, always have been and always will be. We have to get one back on you for the FA cup. Not a cheap goal though, I think it will finish 2-1 United.

As i blues fan i`m looking forward to a good game tomorrow.
The so called curtain raiser of the new season is never a classic but with the new signings on both side it should be interesting at most.

Having had the slating for the past couple of seasons about Chelsea spending big and " buying " the title i feel the pressure will be on man utd this season having spent the money they have spent so far and espeacially with all the goings on surrounding Tevez.

But can the winners of the league be decided on 1 preseason game who knows all that matters now is the season is a week away so let the battle begin :woop:

Chelsea will win 3-1. Lampard, Shevchenko, and Drogba will score, Rooney will score for united. Looking back it may not be the game of the season, however this will be a game for the ages, with Man U coming off a league win and wanting to avenge their FA cup loss....great game either way.

behave mate schwhatevermyface cant hit a barn door for shit, were gonna do you tomorrow :) what ever the result, were going to be so much better in the ctual season seeing nani, anderson, hargreaves and tevez all wont be playing tomorrow so thats at least 4 brilliant players we wont have, aswell as saha and solskjaer. Whatever the result tomorrow it will count for nothing anyway so i wouldnt read to much into it

I know it's preseason but Tevez won't be as big as everyone is thinking. How many "young guns" have been brought over and then done shit 'cough' Shevchenko 'cough'. Sols and Hargreaves will do nothing again this year. I'm not gonna lie, i'll be pissed if Ballack and Robben leave for the proposed 25 million...

Well, it was a cagey first half but started to open up near the half-hour mark with a few good goals! Now the game is opening up quite well, could go either way really!

BTW Malouda's goal was great! :D

United win on Penalties woo hoo!

Sucky having to watch this on Gamecast through Soccernet because my country hates soccer :(.

As most of you said this game is pretty worthless but its always great to see my side take back a win they should have had in the FA Cup.... but didn't due to pure exhaustion on both sides... they just couldn't push through like you Blues did.

This season will be good and I don't think anyone is just going to run away with it... I'm hoping for a close one down to the end.... with a United win of course.

EDIT - Just wanted to say it is sad to see Terry out for a month... though I am sure it won't put to much trouble on your guys in the first parts of the season.

I actually enjoyed this game today. Giggs had a beautiful goal and Van de Sar put on a clinic when it went to PK's. I think Cech jinxed himself when he took his protective hat off during the PK session.

Whether the games are good or not, you have to understand that we in America who enjoy the "beautiful game", look forward to all games across seas with the premier teams. Our caliber of player is no where near the soccer quality of the rest of the world yet. I really hope soccer/football takes off one day soon! I personally still play on my own team one night a week as well as coaching two teams on Saturday morning, 1 a 3,4, and 5 year old introductory clinic and one team of physically and mentally challenged kids. Soccer/football has always been my favorite sport and it needs to get better and bigger over here!

*My rant of the day ;)*
