Afta I get finsihed with school this week ima try staying up for 7 days, wondering if anyone else has trtied and succeeded/ or failed
.:wtf
47hrs at a lan, and I wouldn't do it again. Screws up your body clock way too much so you dunno when to eat or anything.
I could do it again because once you get to a certain point, it's fairly simple to stay awake. I just don't want to do it again :p

I did 48 hours. That wasn't a happy experience. I stayed up for a whole day and got the brilliant idea to stay up for another one! I basically ended up like a zombie, and couldn't do anything because I was too tired. Man, was that a pleasant night when I went to sleep.

The longest I've gamed consecutively is 36 hours (on multiple occasions) and those were caused by MMOs. Actual max awake time is probably only 48 hours of so. I remember one time when I pulled 4 consecutive shifts at work that was unexpected (went in on Monday and left on Wed). Usually I go with very little sleep, but it's always 3-4 hours a night.

Roughly 4 days, give or take a couple hours.
I wouldn't recommend it, the hallucinations when you hit the 3 day mark aren't pleasant. :(
I did 80 hours during non-sleepathon '05.
I was planning on making an attempt to beat that over the Summer but I've been too busy thus far. I planned on watching every episode of One Piece back-to-back to keep me going, that is 313 20 minute (roughly) episodes, which is 4 and a bit days. Add on randomness and a bit of 360 play and it could be 5 days.
We should do a sponsored x360a non-sleep week, see how many hours we can put in online between us.

76 Hours. Initial Convoy into Iraq. Not fun, not fun at all. I was to the point where had I not been aware of the fact that bullets were flying everywhere, I would have passed out walking from my vehicle to the command area...

Weak foolish mortals and your need for sleep sickens me. I average about 18 hours of sleep per week. Which usually consists of about 60-75 hours awake followed by a break to absorb more souls in the sleep realm. I've made it to 103 hours straight before the voices in my head went silent and I don't remember anything after that... but when I awoke I was a father for the fourth time. Ohh and yes I do have a diagnosed sleeping disorder.

Since we have all these people who don't sleep maybe I'll bring back my 24 Hours of Gaming Challenge... which I won by a landslide... still didn't get my badge... *cough cough Minty*... ohhh wait if memory serves Pinseeker said I'd have to go 11 days straight before getting a badge.... damn the Sith.
Edit... here is the link to the original challenge... ohhh I remember that weekend was basically 24 hours of Enchanted Arms.

I think the longest I've ever gone has been been maybe 40 hours or so. I can't really think of anything that I would really want to stay awake for for days at at time.
Plus, when I was pretty young, I saw a show about sleep deprivation that was pretty spooky (hallucinations and just general flipping out) that pretty much made me not want to ever try it ;)

84 hours was the longest I stayed awake.
5 tests and 4 major lab projects due the last semester of college when I got my nursing degree.
Worst idea ever. By the end of the last day I was completely worthless. I managed to drive home but was having major issues unlocking my apartment, and by that time I was so wired on coffee/energy drinks/pep pills that I just laid in bed crying because I was so tired.
I eventually took an anti anxiety pill and a muscle relaxant to fall asleep, at which point I slept for 32 hours straight.

Sounds like a worthy challenge indeed Skeletor, but how do you check if the challengers are actually there for the full 24 hours?
You probably didn't get the badge because everyone knows you can play Enchanted Arms in your sleep, so you might have cheated.

Alright my friend it's about to be on... looks at calendar for possible date to get rid of wife and kids... *perfect* Friday, August 16, Saturday, August 17, or Sunday, August 18... you pick the 24 hour time span between those three days (or even into Monday the 19th would be cool) and it's a challenge accepted... hopefully you my UK brethren will have Two Worlds by then because it's going to make my 24 hours fly by to victory. Plus Mountain Dew FTW... the ban on the godly green nectar expires this weekend so I'm going to be locked and loaded.

There was a period of time I was up for 50+ hours for several occassions mostly sitting at the computer playing Diablo II leveling my characters and item hunts (think of the WoW episode of SouthPark, that was me). It ruined my body clock, killed my schooling, and ended me up moving back home. Since then I don't play those type of games and won't touch WoW.

the longest ive stayed up before is 63 hours...... i talked to my grandma about this because she was a doctor. she said that the body can only take up to 96 hours of being awake before internally shutting down. and thats if u sat there and didnt do anything. the problem with doing this though is when your body shuts down it thinks that u are "in a sense" dead and normally doesnt respond for 2 to 3 days. so if i were u i wouldnt try to stay up for 4 days.

Haha, I wouldn't quite put it how graf1k did, but I agree. An entire week without sleep would drive a person into paranoia or worst. I don't think it's possible.
I've only lasted up to about 38 hrs. straight. This was way back when I was a "bummy" kid with no school or a job. My heart started beating irregularly and that's when I said f*ck it! I need some sleep.

The world record for staying awake was something like 14 days, a student somewhere was asked to stay awake for as long as he could whilst scientists (crazy bunch) observed what he did and how he behaved. They also tested whether things like memory or general knowledge recall were affected by a lack of sleep and they found nothing (apparently). If you google it, it will come.
Does anyone remember that programme a while ago that was like Big Brother only all of the people were attempting to stay awake for as long as possible? But the whole thing was fake because they let them sleep for a bit every day when the cameras were off.

6 Days during my Army Days, and belive me i was so f***ed up it was unreal, i was on a recon patrol in the GULF WAR and we ended up reconing for 4 days then we found out that we had to wait 2 days and ambush 3 enemy patrols we kept trying to nodding off but never fell asleep. When we returned to camp all of us slept for 2 days solid... Although now i suffer with allsorts Chronic Insonmia i am on so much meds its unreal and these days i will easy stay awake for 48 hours np and if i do get some sleep it will only be for like 3 maybe 4 hours then i am awake again although i am on sleeping tabs they never work... Also as we speek i have not had any sleep since tuesday night i woke up at 4am tuesday and am still awake now but am now feeling worse for wear now i know i will sleep good 2nite. ;)

well i am abit weird about sleep i can close my eyes pretty much any time and sleep but at the same time i can force myself to stay awake if needed, i think my personal best was 170 hours when i was 18 (bad time in my life alot of things happened all too quick and i ended up taking substances that i should not have) but i have stopped that stuff and just have the occasional magic brownie, but recently it was 63 hours going for GRAW Leaderboards,
Khronic word of warning to you my friend if you attempt this 7 day feat you will pay dearly for it, unless of course you are like Wreckon or myself or Kaens who have abused there body clocks to the point of them not really working any more, but you will suffer after about 3 days comes the short temperedness, even the smallest thing will seem like the world is ending, then after 4 days comes the hallucanations this gets worse as the days go on, and finally comes the body crash this is nasty, you can move and talk and such like but you feel like you are not in your own body and that you are a 3rd party watching your own life.
As a fellow human being i strongly beg of you not to walk this path unless you truly have to, to do this for fun is insanity at its greatest, maybe go for 2 48 hour sessions in a 5 day period. but at the end of the day the decision is yours but if you go for it warn all of your friends before hand so they are aware of the situation.
Oh yeah and did you know if you go 7 days without sleep then technically you are classified as clinicly insane due to the fact that your brain wave pattern has altered so dramatically from the shock of not being allowed to regenerate.

46 Hours. My parents were gone at orientation for my brothers college. My friend was just leaving when we saw someone run out of my garage. I got freaked out and carried a knife around me where ever I went and had 2 people spend the night the next day and we stayed up for a while which totaled 46 hours for me.

mines 36 hours went to concert got home and thought id play like 24 hours of gears
ive decided im going to try and get all halo 3 achievements in one play anyone with me ???
42 Hours.... Twice
Nothing Special, but I was going to be on a plane ride and wanted to sleep, so making myself tired was the easiest way, but ended up not being able to sleep, and was totally out of it when I finally got to Mexico. No Red Bull, no nothing. I did it Oh Naturel, and had a normally active day.
And the other time, was when i went to Quebec with my school, and we thought it would be funny to not sleep for a long time. It wasnt good.. And nobody would go to sleep because we promised each other that the first one that falls asleep gets a prank... And we're cruel people.
Once you hit 72 Hours, you start hallucinating, and your emotions let loose, you cant control anything your body is doing. Red Bull wont help you. Also, I highly recommend you have someone at least be owth you, or look over you, because youd be amazed at the crazy shit you do when you try it.

Impossible, you wont be able to get the final online achievement for a long time. It takes plenty of hours, and about 750 wins I believe, with a level 50.
