Prisoner of War Savior level 7 achievement, please help!!

Prisoner of War Savior on level 7:

I can't seem to get this one no matter what I do. It seems if I take my time to get to the guys, they are not there. But if I rush in there to save them, they always end up running away and dieing before I can save them. Does anyone have any advice on this one, I've tried doing this achievement 8 times now and I am getting quite frustrated.

have you tried the advice that's in the achievement guide, which is stickied?

Yes I followed the guide for most the achievements. But it doesn't give very much detail. All it tells me to do is look for the path a few hundred feet after the radio tower and take it to get the medal opportunity. Save the allies and get the medal.

But when I take my time to get there, they give me the medal opportunity but they are not there. But if I rush over there to save them, they always run out and get killed from the guys over by the radio tower.

ok this is what i did. I came at the open area were you have to take over the check point and then i chose the guy with the rocket lacuncher and killed all of them from far away. And then i had a 4x4 droped in and then rode the 4x4 in right in the middle got out and then set a gun facing the other barn (the one to the left) you have to be quick about it but if you ride the truck right into the middle it make it really hard for them to kill "your" guys.

I tried and there is no one there as well, wether I storm right up there in a tank, car, 4X4. This is insane I have every single player medal, but that one. I tried placing gun nest by the very start of the hill nothing is working it must be just luck to get these fools to show up since I have not seen no one in that area, there are never SS soilders in that spot at all even if it says MEDAL OPPORTUNITY

I tried this just once last night; it definately seems like it's pretty tricky; I ended up signing out after I died the first time. I'll work on getting through this one tonight and if I do I'll make sure I post my tactic here.

Ive tried this twice so far the first time they died the second time they were not there so i dont know either. Hope someone know the trick to this!

I have not seen any reply like the way I did it, but I did it on CO-OP. Both of us had a jeep and we stormed in. We just killed every German we could see and kept our jeep between the fence where the prisoners were and the Germans on the left. It was actually quite easy, but that is probably because I had a Co-op player in the game with me. Just thought I would share incase anyone has a Co-op player available.
