View Full Version : Completed with medium difficulty. Start New game for Hard...?

Has anyone first completed the game with medium/easy difficulty and than completed with hard?
Was wondering if I could just use the "Replay Level" option and complete everything on hard, or do I have to create a new game? On my current game I've unlocked every pistol upgrade so it would be an advantage to use this when completing hard. And for collecting the last bronze rewards I'm missing.
Does anyone know if this works?

I have a question does it work to unlock the achievements on Hard and Normal Difficulty if you only play through once on Hard?

ive done the same, so im glad it works... anyone have any trouble on the second level on hard?, i got right to the end of the level and all of a sudden i had to kill what seemed like well over 100 mercs, i did it in the end, but took me about 20 minutes (without being killed)

Ehh nope.. was quite fast, killed maybe 10 tops. Do they spawn more maybe? Think you have to kill that guy by the car to finish the lvl. But think I got a movie showing that and didn't see any other then.

I completed on medium first and used the replay level on every level and chose the hard diff and I got the achievement after completing it, so yes, it works :d

you definatly get both acheivements if you begin on hard, it must of been bloody easy on easy, only time i died on hard was by killing myself doing crazy jumps (i did use the online walkthrough though)
I'll do it through on normal and find my own ways and secrets and then race through it on hard, thats my plan :D

I did this, however it still says that my current difficulty is easy after I beat it on hard (in level select) Did yours do this also? My difficulty under current difficulty is not changing after I select hard and beat it on hard (the first level anyways)

^^ your best off starting a new game on hard from scratch mate, will take you the same amount of time as replaying the levels

I know for a fact that I started the game on normal, but half way through, I changed my difficulty to Hard starting with Kazakhstan. When I finished the game, I replayed Bolivia through West Africa and didn't get the achievement. :(

Bah all this mixed responses are frustrating me, as I too am in the same position as the person who created this thread.
I'll stick to the time trials for now, but hopefully someone will clear this question up once and for all. Cheers for whoever that is. :)

I played it through on Easy the first time because I didn't want to worry about the firefights and simply concentrate on the puzzles. After I completed the story mode, I did the time trial for Bolivia Redux and got the cheat for One-hit kills. Here's a little trick:
If you play on the easier save and activate the cheat and complete a level, then go load your harder save, you'll still have the one-shot cheat activated. So, one-hit kills on Tomb Raider difficulty even though you haven't unlocked the cheat yet...
Hope that helps somebody.

Right well I have done all the time trials now and am going to start replaying every level on hard. It's been proved that it works if you started off on normal difficulty, but we don't know about easy. So I guess I will be the person to find out. :)

It works guys, just as long as you replay each level in order from start to finish. :)

I'm glad to hear that by playing the game through on Hard, that it also unlocks the Normal difficulty achievements as well. That's what I'm goign to do when I get this game and then go back and do the time trials for it.

What the eff, I just did what everyone said. Beat it on normal then went through and did mission select on hard in order for all the levels, and no freakin achievement. This sucks. I dont know if I can put myself through beating this game a FOURTH time.

You did replay the levels in EXACT same order as the storyline goes right?

I hate this inconsistency. I beat it on easy and am going in order doing hard now. I also did the time trial on Bolivia Redux to get the one-hit kills.
I sure hope I don't have to do hard again.

Just to give an update, you can go back and do the levels on hard. After doing Bolivia Redux on hard and all the other levels I was awarded the hard achievement.
