Drew Carrey - new "The Price is Right" host

What do you guys think about this? Personally I don't think Drew Carrey is the right guy for the job.. I mean the "Drew Carrey Show" and "Whos Line is it Anyway?" are funny (maybe at times) but I don't see him fit to host the legendary game show.

I don't think anyone is right for the legendary show as you put it. It'll always be Barker who should be there. So everyone would have huge shoes to fill. I think he's got as good a chance as anyone else...at least in my opinion since I love Whose Line.

Although I loved Drew Carey in Whose Line is it Anyway? and The Drew Carey Show, I also don't think that he fits the spot of Price is Right host. He's funny and all, but it won't be the same with Bob Barker. :(

Yup. Hes got HUGE shoes to fill. Maybe never ending shoes? Barker is irreplaceable in my book. But I do also agree that if anyone could possibly give it a shot it could be Drew Carrey.

I'm glad its Drew Carey. By no means would Rosie O'Donnell ever have gotten that job even though Bob Barker wanted her to I don't think the shows executives would have allowed it. If you watch the show you'll notice a times there are a huge presence of military personnel that attend the show. With Rosie's track record of speaking out against the military for the Iraq situation it just wouldn't be wise to put her in that position. Drew Carrey is more straight forward, has kept out of political discussions (from what I've seen) and to me is a million times funnier and more fun loving than Rosie. You can't replace Barker though, you can only try to do a good job.

I think its a waste of Drew Careiy's abilities. I dont think he is suited for the show and i dont think the show is suited for him, its just not his style. I do think he will do a great job but id rather have some no name in there. Just my opinion.

I don't think anyone has brought up that the Price is Right will probably be overhauled and dispose of everything from the 70s. I just don't see Drew Carrey walking out onto that stage with the thin mic and lots of bright neon/pastel colors and blinking incandescent light bulbs. If that did happen then it would be like CBS is just trying to replace Bob. If they keep the show's name, but overhaul all the props so they don't look like they could possibly be used in an Austin Powers movie then they'll give Carrey a fighting chance.
