Just wondering if anyone else had had any success with so called freebie sites. You know the ones who offer you free ps3's etc etc if you sign up and refer some friends?

I know it sounds like a scam, but I was interested and tried it out, did one of the cheapy gifts and in a week I got a free Nintendo DS. It's not free though, I had to pay 10$ total for shipping and handling of some trial products that I had to sign up for in order to get the DS. It's really interesting how it works once you do a little research but it is the direct result of companies spending a lot of money on advertising. I won't post any links because I don't know if this site would support that kind of thing :p

Anwyay just curious, anyone else had any success?

Nothing on those sites will ever be free. If you are giving out yout personal details to a random website then chances are they are going to be doing something else with them even if you get a PS3 (why would you want one anyway).

As many people have said, nothing is ever free, you'll always have to pay a price.

I understand that belief but with a little background research you can pick out the sketchy sites. The only details you are required to give are your name and address for shipping purposes, after that you're directed to the sponsors of the website where you're asked to complete an offer. (i.e. netflix, sign up for free trial, once you are credited with completing the offer, cancel membership)

Most of these sites (not all though, be careful) are just a small part of larger companies who get paid to refer people to these online businesses. They wouldn't risk losing their business by defrauding someone (at least I believe this). These companies are literally making a ton of cash, and it's really interesting to me.

If you're interested CNN did a story about these sites as did G4TV.

Awesome. I found a great community where people trade referrals and seems to be working out great, again I won't post any details cause I'm not sure if the mods are ok with it :p
