Unlike when that Sony dude left, it's safe to say that Peter Moore is leaving for reasons that have nothing to due with failure and crappy consoles. The Xbox 360 is hot, and this year end it'll be hotter with the insane amount of games it'll boast. Peter is leaving right in the thick of it, showing that the Xbox is strong enough to stand on it's own two feet now. Believe it or not, that's actually a good sign.

Love,
~Jon

My above statement never said it was good, I do agree with you here Legion, Peter Moore is the shit. I don't know much about this Don fellow, but he's got some ground to make up.

Meh, well, EA seem to be pretty good doing what they do, so I have some hope in it.

Good. I can't stand hearing him speak.

Thanks for the warranty bump, though.

Peter Moore was a fun guy. I mean, what other corporate executive decides to unveil big products with fake tattoos?

Hopefully this Don Mattrick will keep everything together.

I'd like to announce that as of July 30th I am going to shoot my 360 to death every day (although once will probably be enough) until Grandmaster Moore returns. Does anyone know his address so I can send him a card?

I don't like the sound of any EA pathogen taking his place.

....I'm not sure if this is a coincidence...But...There's a red hooded horseman with a sword right next to me....I think Peter Moore just initiated the Apocalypse...He can't leave, let alone allow an ex EA Games person take his spot!

Do you guys read how much he is getting from EA????
They're paying Moore $550K with a target bonus of 75%, 350K stock options, 50K stock, $1.5M signing bonus, and $330K relocation expenses. No wonder he left.

I should run a poll (only for senior members though.. jk jk (http://www.xbox360achievements.org/forum/showthread.php?p=327219#post327219)) asking if my obscure jokes are just not funny or go over people's heads. I bet I wouldn't like the results :drunk

One man does not a company make. The 360 will go on same as before regardless if it's Peter Moore or Don Mattrick. There's a plan in place, Peter Moore was the mouth piece (and not a very good one).

I bet I wouldn't like the results :drunkAt least it's this way with me, but whenever I read something like that I think, "wow, I should really tell the guy how awesome that is" or "man, good point," but I never seem to be able to express that with a faint scent of homosexuality, so I never say anything, even though I will constantly wait on others to reply to posts of mine that I feel are in that obscure/zinger category. Anyway, it was funny, and we know that it was funny, but we are all too chicken to say anything.

I believe "obscure" is the key word here. I got a giggle out of it if that makes you feel any better?

But yeah, this is depressing. One of my favorite corporate figureheads from recent memory.

I wish EA had recruited Reggie Fils Aime instead because every time he speaks part of me dies inside - if he'd gone to EA he would have been restricted to the same pointless soundbites as the rest of their staff. Oh what a happy day that would have been.

It also surprises me that anyone could outbid Microsoft for someone who seems to be doing as well as Peter Moore. Surely if MS had REALLY wanted to keep him they could easily afford to do so.

Here's the offer letter (http://sec.gov/Archives/edgar/data/712515/000119312507156469/d8k.htm) from EA.

Sure sure, but it's just cool to see how much he's going to get paid. I know Randal posted the details in another thread, but this is where the conversation is happening.

We posted at the same time, I was referring to the post a bit above yours =P

EA must be desperate if they are paying/giving him so much, but if the big M don't want to counter it they must know something we don't. Maybe Moore is a secret agent and he is going to do justice to the world by destroying EA from the inside. What a hero.
