Hey, I was wondering if US Microsoft Point and Live Subscription cards would work in Canada? Does anyone have past experience?

I am 99.9% sure it won't work. The currency rates are different in each region. I have a friend in London and a friend in Australia who I tried to give a US MS Points Card to and it wouldn't work. Never tried with anyone in Canada but I'm sure it will be with the same result. Here's the current conversion chart:
