Just as a heads up to all those who send in their 360 recently for repairs (especially with the warranty extension) you should be expecting to have to wait for over a month to get it back. I just found out my 360 was shipped out at 9:26 P.M. yesterday (Wedns. July 16th) and I had sent it out on Friday, June 22nd. It took 3 1/2 weeks to get it back to me, and I had sent it in about 2 weeks before the warranty extension which is only going to elongate the wait time.

So, to a heads up to anyone who's holding their breath that their 360 will be returned to you shortly, you can expect over a month wait on your console. Use that information as you wish, take up a new hobby, buy another console, dust off the old N64/NES (that's what I did). Just passing on information so people know what to expect.

Yeah, a friend of my wifes 360 got the 3 red lights the other day, and they told him he will be waiting for at least a month to get it back. He is now deciding if he wants to send it in and wait for a month+ or just get a new one.

Oh wow. Two of my friends' 360s just broke about a week ago, that's really gonna suck for them to have to wait.

I got told that the repair time was 20-25 days (working days I assume), but they were trying to cut down the time to the normal 15 days by end of july.

Looks like the summer heat is causing X0's go pop. (Friend of mine got three redlights recently. Mine was scracthing disks)

The wait times are totally ridiculous and unacceptable. If my 360 broke down again, I would probably just buy a new one. Being without my 360 for a month, with all the awesome games about to come out, would drive me crazy.

They got mine on the 6th. No word on it yet.

If you are in the UK and want to avoid the massive waiting times but are willing to pay for repairs then go to:

http://www.totalconsolerepair.co.uk/

It costs £56 but you can get a discount if you shop with Game and it is quicker than sending it off to Microsoft. Luckily I've never had to choose between speed and price when it comes to repairs, my 360 is a man-360!

To Zef's reference I will say if you get a new system get a replacement plan through EB or Gamestop. I've had 2 boxes kick it and I would gladly pay 40 bucks for a new plan and a new 360 in the same day then have to wait.

However don't be fooled by best buy and their service plans... which force you to send it in and get a third party to fix it.

Something you guys need to know..... THEY TELL YOU HOW LONG IT WILL TAKE!!!!!

They tell you it will be 5 bussiness days before you get the box, 5 to get it back to them, 7 to fix it, and 5 more to return shipping. 5 business days is basically 1 week so your looking at about 28+ Days before you get it back.

Should it take 10 real days to fix a problem that only needs 1 hour of man labor???? Definetely not. But there's no reason for you to be mad for not listening to how long it will take them to send it to you.

I sent mine out and they get it the 13th. I honestly don't even expect it before August 13th. If I do get it, It'll be a surprise to me.

So like he said, for anyone who's got their hopes up, you should have known that it would take between 28-33 days before you can reasonably expect your Xbox back.
The other thing you can do is call them every day and check up on the status of your 360 and/or urge them to hurry up.

Lol, I got mine in 1 week. And it was over the weekend. It really depends what's wrong with your console and where you live I think. They didn't ship me a box, so I just went into a UPS center and shipped it off. I guess that's what made it faster.

haha, yeah a bunch of BS if you ask me. My xbox broke down three days before it was going to be out of warranty. . . before they extended it. Anyway, the guy swears up and down up and down that it will be gone and back in 10 . . . yes, 10 days. I get my box, send it out and wait, and wait, and wait, and wait, two months now and the thing was just shipped out on the 12th which of course you have to sign for which no one told me and I work 80hrs a week and don't have the time to wait on the phone for another hour to talk to the xbox people about changing the shipping address.

Also, why is it that everytime I call no matter what time of day or night I have to wait for almost, if not over, an hour just to get someone on the phone listening to the shitty techno "gamer" music?

My disc drive is starting to give me frequent problems was considering sending it in, before Mass Effect, GTA4, H3, Lost Oddesy and all those games come out....wonder if I'll get it back in time.

My friend had a problem with the video on his 360 a month ago. He was too busy playing his Wii. He finally called Xbox 3 weeks ago and the person said he should be expecting to wait 3 weeks for his 360 to come back but it came back in 2 weeks. Incredible!!!

Maybe they told you, but they never mentioned a time frame to me. And it only took one day for me to get the box and one day for them to get it back. I tracked it at UPS. One day.

Considering that when you send in your xbox under warranty all they do is put the next 'repaired' xbox off the shelf in a box and ship it to you, it shouldn't take them more than a day for repair time. You never get back the same xbox you send in ... under warranty.

Turn around times have noticably increased since the last update and I suspect it has to do with Microsoft actually checking the systems for modifications.

Exiled, you took the words right out of my mouth and I can't agree more.

My last 360 from M$ came back fairly quickly. 2 weeks. I just hate seeing my XBL account go to waste.

Im assuming the wait comes from them not having any "repaired" xbox's ready on the shelf, and that leading to a queue of people waiting before the sender.

So should I just send my 360 with UPS or wait for Microsoft's box?

I want to get this over with FAST.

You should wait for Microsoft's box because there is the shipping sticker on it which you'll need.

Well I've dusted off my old box and am now playin Halo 2.

But these wait times are unacceptable, I dont think microsoft should say they have customer satisfaction on mind or whatever, and then come out with a week and a half wait time, not for the 360 being fixed, but just to get the box I need to actually GET IT FIXED!!!!

That sucks. I imagine you've contacted UPS and Microsoft. Let us know what's up.

On a different note, I got an email not an hour ago saying my 360 is being shipped back to me via UPS Ground as of today. They received it on the 6th and shipped it back out on the 20th. Different serial number so I wonder what this one will die of...
