Ok so I have just finished watching this movie and I enjoyed it. Dont know why so many people hate it.

The movie took too long before it got interested with the ability in combat. The movie was fun. Sarah Hart (Dianna Agron) remind me of a girl I know. They look so close, I was amazed (reason why I watched the Glee, I guess).

What I am curiously surprise is that why the film industry decide to pick up a book that has recently released in 2010, (the film is based off from the book, for those who did not know).

I agree that it took awhile to get going but when it did it was great. The little dog suprised me.

I thought it was okay. It wasn't good, but it wasn't bad either.

I watched this with my son, and I thought it was a decent movie.

I loved this movie. Such a cool premise and though it started off slowly, the last 40 minutes were just amazing. I am super sad to see that it didn't do very good but maybe they should have waited for at least one more of the books to come out so it could gather a decent fan base! Hot chicks + Timothy Olyphant? Can't be that bad of a movie.

Alright movie. It wasn't anything special, but then again, it wasn't absolute shit, it was decent. I think I remember giving it a solid 6/10.

I usually watch movies when I'm bored based on who's in them. Usually is some pretty lady. :3 I don't base all my movie choices like that, but when bored, and nothing to do, it's usually the case. Just like I got Monte Carlo tucked away for a rainy day. I don't think it's going to be great by any means, but it has Selena Gomez, she's a decent actress and hot. ^^

I agree that it took awhile to get going but when it did it was great. The little dog suprised me.

I didn't realize till after the movie, but it is in fact based on a children's book and was slated to have multiple installments, or sequels. I don't know what the verdict was on that, or if it did well enough to warrant sequels, but that was the plan. Also I do know that a few of the characters are contractually obligated to appear in the sequels should they choose to make them. The only one I can remember for sure was Dianna. Maybe the Aussie and Number Four himself, but dunno. Point is, it was setup to be a saga-like experience. Again who knows if it will happen though. I kind of hope it will though, I found it enjoyable and pretty straight forward. Sure it didn't have much of a story, but I suppose that's what the other movies are suppose to reveal, and was my only gripe for not liking it more. Overall a pretty solid, but not over the top sci-fi action film. :D

I really feel that people have become increasingly hard to please these days.

I saw the film in the theaters when it came out and literally loved every minute of it. I never felt that it was slow, boring, or uninteresting. I group this film with another of my favorite "loved to be bashed" films, Jumper.

While I doubt we'll ever see a sequel to Jumper, I would love nothing more then to get a sequel from I Am #4.

Ditto my man. Loved both of these films. I never thought I am number 4 slow either because it was setting up the story for what could have been quite a few movies!

Never seen Jumper (although playing the game, terrible as it was, got me wanting to see it) but I agree wholeheartedly. It seems everyone is a critic these days, which is a damn shame because they are missing out on the fun that watching a movie is supposed to bring.

I thought the movie was incredibly boring, the entire first half of the movie is just some unrelatable teenager going through problems in high school, it actually seems to rip off Twilight in some scenes. I was about to walk out of this movie until the final act started in time. From that point onward I thought the movie was great, and made the rest of the crap in this movie worth watching.

Yeah as others have said, not great but still better than some of the shit I've seen 5.5/10. Since this was the beginning of the story I think a sequel would be a lot better paced, unfortunately they aren't making one.

From what I've read, the sequel is action packed and the entire movie would be like the last 40 minutes of this one.

I'm intrigued enough to read the book but I've also read that the books aren't written very well (I've looked at a few lines from the first one and some things are cringe worthy). Definitely written for young adults.

Jumper was a really fun movie. I enjoyed the concept and the actors really brought it together.

Just watched this tonight. I'd definitely put it in the same category as Jumper and Push. Completely panned by critics and ignored by the masses... but all three were fun, unique movies. Good action, at least halfway decent if not above average acting and some sweet effects with interesting powers.

I'd definitely recommend all three. :)

Never seen Push is it any way related to Jumper? Are the worlds entwined some how. I enjoyed both films but Jumper the game my god...I had to snap that disk bloody Samuel L Jackson. The difficulty curve in that game was like walking along and then suddenly mount everest spawns out of the ground in front of you lol.

That girl who plays John Smith's love interest is beautiful as hell. I like how it went from number four to number six lol maybe number 5 is on the other side or something. Also the dog thing was too obvious.

Do you mean the book, or they are actually making a sequel? I wouldn't mine seeing Agron on the big screen again. :D

Yeah, Push is its own universe. But there are various powers that people can have, but only one per person. Chris Evans is telekinetic, similar to Number Four. Dakota Fanning plays a precog type character that draws the future. Here are the other powers:

If the film decide to make sequel - which is still not announced - and decide to follow the book, then the sequel will be focus on Number 7, and not 4.

I don't think Agron will make her return.... -_-

I remember reading that she was in fact contractually obligated to appear in subsequent sequels, but can no longer find the source I read it from, or anything credible, so that's all hearsay at this point. However, I have found that the dude playing "Four" is a huge douchebag:

Pettyfer reportedly requested a staggering $10 million upfront pay for “Mortal Instruments (http://blogs.indiewire.com/theplaylist/archives/man-of-the-moment_alex_pettyfer_offered_lead_in_mortal_instru ments_adaptati/)” (a film he’s apparently since turned down (http://blogs.indiewire.com/theplaylist/archives/alex_pettyfer_in_talks_for_the_last_apprentice_jef f_bridges_and_jennifer_la/)). But that’s not all that’s being said about Mr. Pettyfer. Apparently the actor had more than a few disagreements with director D.J. Caruso on the set of “I Am Number Four,” and it got bad enough that DreamWorks CEO Stacy Snider had to intervene.

That's not even the half of it. You can read more here if you like: http://blogs.indiewire.com/theplaylist/archives/alex_pettyfer_developing_a_bad_reputation_says_ins iders._also_who_is_alex_p/

However, I think his attitude speaks for itself and the movie wasn't that great that it would warrant risking more money in something that could go either way.

I heard he was a doucher and if they did a sequel they'd have to replace him. The one thing that I thought was "meh" about the film was him as well, I wouldn't mind seeing him replaced at all, he wasn't why I enjoyed the film as much as I did.

And BTW, there's a reason Timothy Olyphant got more money than you Pettyfer, because he's fucking awesome and you're not.

Was an enjoyable movie but the casting was off. Way too many photomodels everywhere, which actually messes with the plot and one point. Do you really think a muscled handsome guy like the lead character is going to get bullied at school? Come on now, be real. Also didn't like the romantic subplot, so many cliches thrown in there. It always felt like things were happening because somebody wrote them down, rather than them being natural events.
