So I just beat the game last night and couldnt help but notice how the cheshire cat says "all is well...for now" or something along those lines. Clearly hinting at a sequel at least in my eyes. I know this game has gotten pretty mixed reviews but I really enjoyed it despite a few glitches, like getting stuck for no obvious reason and having to jump to continue. Despite that I loved the game and its story. I was just wondering what peoples thoughts were on a potential sequel or at least some dlc chapters. I just hope if they do make a sequel it doesnt take them another 10 years to make!

A sequel would be great just make it longer and with lots of bosses. Like final fantasy status just a minimum of maybe 10 bosses

Yeah I agree with the length. I wish it had a few extra chapters, I just cant get enough! Lol

Yeah I can definitely see the potential for DLC chapters and/or another sequel. After playing the first game for the first time, Madness Returns was a massive improvement in every single aspect while still keeping that "American McGhee" feel to the game.
Anyone else find it extremely odd that they managed to be relatively faithful to the Lewis Carroll Novels?

There will surely be a sequel. 1) There needs to be some explanation of this ending. 2) It's an EA game. :D
I hope next time those London parts become more relevant. A little more open world , doing errands if you like. I totaly loved this style. Everything dark, depressed, sad, the right music, tons of details.

Holy shit! This was an EA game?! I didn't even notice. It certainly doesn't play like an EA game. Hahaha :D I guess Dante's Inferno played kinda similar to this, so it does seem like an EA kind of title.
If this game had an online mode, it would have certainly launched with sketchy online servers, made you sign into that ridiculous EA account, and then not worked for the first week or two.
At least in my experience, that's how you tell if a game is made by EA.
Am I the only one who thought they should have maybe added some sort of co-op mode or maybe a horde arena style thing? Cause after you play the game a couple times, it does get kinda old :/

i think a DLC would be possible.
A new game not that much, it may be an EA game but i am still waiting for a dantes inferno sequel which ended with a big cliffhanger and it was a very popular game.
its an EA game but they are only the publishers, its not "made" by them. its from American McGee's development studio Spicy Horse. just for those who are saying else.

Yeah good point but I definately think there is enough of a fan base to warrant a sequel. I know my self was waiting for a very long time for the sequel to the first alice.

I'm a huge fan of American Mcgee's Alice, so I'll always be happy to see another game! Mcgee is currently working on another twisted fairytale style game based on Red Riding Hood, so that could be interesting. Although I'm not sure it'll be as good as Alice, seeing as that particular story has a pretty limited number of characters to draw from.
If another Alice game does go into development though, I hope they create a nice big collector's edition for it! :woop:

I seem to recall reading somewhere that Spicy Horse were going to be focussing on (shudder) the casual market for the foreseeable future. I hope I'm mistaken because I would enjoy more of this. Wouldn't have minded more chapters if each chapter was shorter (I got a little fed up of doing sliding blocks puzzles :P)

Plus AMG still owes us a promised Wizard of Oz game.
@EA : Yeah, they are just the publisher, but that doesn't mean much with them. :D

If there is a sequel to the game, it won't be made by American Mcgee. He has said in a few interviews that triple A, full featured console games aren't really Spicy Horses thing.
He likely prefers smaller scale, cheaper to produce casual web-games or episodic PC games because ad generated revenue can be more profitable and there isn't a lot of risk in production. If you can churn out 7 web-games in a year, a few of them will be profitable. As opposed to spending 1+ year on a AAA game that might bomb.
I guess there could be a little hope if Alice sells well. EA does own the franchise and they have some satellite studios they could put on it. Over the last few years they have had no bones about taking risks on new franchises, but then dropping them without a thought if they didn't see a return.

For the time being I'm just hoping that Spicy Horse will release DLC for Alice. The amount of cut-content is astronomical for Madness Returns, I could easily see them implementing them back into the game via DLC down the line.
I reckon it won't get a full fledged sequel just yet or at all though. This is all too familiar of Brutal Legend and Dante's Inferno where the ending finishes on a cliff hanger and the studios want to do a sequel but EA doesn't greenlight it due to either poor sales or the reviews it received.

I'm positive there will be at least a DLC with some new chapters or stuff. The end was a major cliffhanger and I too believe that the cheshire cat hinted something there.
And thinking by how hyped everyone was when Tim Burton released his Alice movie last year, I don't think that it sells that poorly that EA holds back any possible sequels. (I dare them to! 10 years nearly killed me.)

There is more than enough material in the final cut scenes and memories to warrant a sequel. Bumby had been after Lizzy and after being refused broke in, took her by force and killed the family to cover it up. Alice survives and he does his damndest to wipe her mind and turn her into a prostitute. Would that not wreck your mind were it your situation? I'm sure her wonderland will be shattered once again after finding out the truth behind her initial madness.

I'm really hoping for additional chapters in DLC, game was beautiful, but entirely too short. For such a great build up in story, it felt like it fell flat really quickly at the end.

I wouldn't mind playing through the beautiful unspoilt wonderland you briefly see at the end.

I really do hope there is a sequel or at the very least some decent DLC. I love the story and (as someone has already said) there is definitely the potential for Alice to go nuts with the reveal, talk about robbing someone of their innocence!!

I think a sequel wouldn't be great. I'm still hoping for some dlc chapters or something, the game seemed way to short. After playing the first Alice Madness is a huge leap forward and it leaves me wanting more. Also I would like them to release some gamer pics/themes the game really deserves it and an Alice them for the dashboad could look really cool, because I like the style the game was done in.

wow, this makes me think Mcgee is a complete douche. Games, much like film and music, should be forms of creative expression, not products. How could someone who thinks with such a corporate mindset create a game with some of the best (artistically) visuals this generation? And why the fuck would anyone WANT to make crappy internet games anyways? If your in a creative industry you do need to make money to stay in business and make more, but still...Why the hell would you want to focus on making cheap, small crap?
