Alright I only have 2 levels left to get a gold medal on, and one of those is the rolling thunder map Breakthrough. So I just did it and killed all 3 IED leaders and didn't stop the convoy much. So at the end I look at my objectives and saw it said I only passed 7 out of 8 checkpoints! How can that be I finished the map? Can anyone explain?

Seems like a potential bug of some sort. Maybe your convoy got diverted in some fashion such that they narrowly missed the checkpoint?

Just keep going with it. Have the squad leader hop in the driver seat of a humvee and guard the convoy while the other members get in the other humvee and roll ahead to clear out the hostiles ahead as quickly as possible.

DON'T STAY IN THE HUMVEE WHEN STANDING STILL. Often there are several RPGs or Light Machine Gunners at ambush points, so hop out, rush to cover and quickly search and destroy the enemies.

It takes a small bit of memorization and luck to do super-well on these maps, but just keep trying and it should eventually come.

Yeah, i've already goten a gold medal on hell's highway. This one is more difficult but i'm learing exactly where the IED leaders spawn points are.

I found that i kept missing out on gold by only a few points but i was very cautious when playing, in the end i jumped in the humvee and floored it to the first junction. I was playing as a rifleman with a marksmen scope which made clearing the top fort easy. This is the hardest part as you need to also clear the destroyed village to the right as well.

If you are quick enough you can clear the area just as the convoy arrives. Usually an IED leader will spawn, if not floor it until one of your team mates spots an enemy, then just jump out, clear the area and floor it to the next spot.

The only other tricky part is the village where you start off at the lower level then have to turn right and drive up into the upper part. I was forced to stop the convoy when it entered the lower part of the village to shield it from the RPG teams in the upper village.

The RPG teams are the main threat, as long as you bail out of your vehicle the moment they are identified you shouldn't have too many problems.

In the end i got gold on this map only killing 2 of the 3 IED leaders, but because i had passed through and killed the main forces the convoy was able to protect itself when the IED team spawned. Mind you this was my 5th attempt and i was starting to learn where the enemy spawned.

Is it showing up what objective you aren't getting? I though it normally showed up as a red cross.

Also are any team members dying? This can seriously mess up your final score. Even if members of the convoy die it still counts as a 1000 point loss.

I have completed this killing only 2 of the 3 IED leaders and still got gold but didn't have any deaths.

The only other option is you might have a glitch of some sort?

I think I know what i'm doing wrong. I wasn't killing most of the people I was driving through very very fast, and only stopping to kill IED leaders. I think since I didn't kill much I may have lost a truck or two. But yeah my teamates and stuff did die. But that wouldn't make the game say 7/8.

I think perhaps it's coded in such a way so that the quantity of the convoy that passes certain points is what determines whether or not you've successfully "passed a waypoint" or something similar, such that if a fair number of them die, you won't get the waypoint.

HOWEVER, the real reason you're not getting gold is because you're letting your convoy die. I'm 99.991% positive that there's some sort of bonus for having as many members or all of the members of the convoy survive, so you're not necessarily doing anything wrong, you just need to kill more enemies so that the convoy doesn't lose as many members and so you can get the bonus at the end of the level.

EDIT: On another note, I could perhaps show you how I managed to do it, maybe with both of you guys. Let me know what's good. Also, yes, this isn't the achievement trading thread, but this is of relevance to helping the OP. :D

Not 100% sure about this but i think if you lose a vehicle it counts as not completing 1 objective.
During one playthrough i messed up and an RPG destroyed 3 of the vehicles in the convoy, At the end i compeleted all 3 IED objectives but only had 5/8 - bronze medal

But definately try and kill eveyone/ keep all team mates alive. You can keep the convoy stopped for quite a while and as long as you stay alive and kill the majority of enemies, you will still get gold.

Yeah i'm going to try and take my time and kill everyone. Instead of just trying to hurry up and make it to the end.

Alright I got the gold and the achievement for all of those abilities.
