I want to say it uses a Mpeg-4 format. Also you can check the site below for Symbian software that converts and sends the file over to your phone, it has a free trial.

can i put files in from my PC theyre not on youtube
Only if they are a playable format. My phone doesn't play .mov's or .wmv's but plays MPEG-4's. You may want to check the Sony site to see what it will play... If anything.

if you mean to see if it plays video the sony erricson does im just unsure which types it does play..
Types are the key, cause if you haven't got the right type you'll have to convert them.

Good deal, I'm glad that software worked for you. Hopefully you can use it for a while but if its time limited you just need to find an Mpeg-4 converter and it should work the same.
