View Full Version : "OXM Universe" question...

This may have been discussed before but I was unable to dig it up, so please forgive me if this is an old question (and hook me up with a link to the answer as you're bitching at me), but...

Is there any way to delete your save file for the "game", or even the OXM discs for that matter? I'd really like to start over with this thing, and it seems as if the save is on one's profile rather than the HDD or MU (I've tried switching to no avail)... for that matter, is there anyway to clear one's cache (on a game-by-game basis, preferrably) on one's profile? Any knowledgeable answers would be appreciated.

I don't think so, I think it saves to your profile. I was just messing around trying to find an option to delete but there isnt any help menus or any thing! I assume you are talking about the Official Xbox Magazine Demo( OXM)

No saves. that's fr sure... This is so archaic. My profile is 15MB and growing because of these "hidden" saves. We must find a way. Razz, get on it partner!

I've only spent 900 points out of my 2000, so I guess I don't really know this... Why would you need to restart? It's my understanding that eventually you'll get everything given enough discs.

Are you trying to say you have memory on your profile? If so.. He wants it off MAYBE because Recovering GT's is a bitch when you have a lots of memory..

If not.. Then im stupid.... :p

Heres another quick question to throw in the disscuison,
Has anyone run out of credits when hiring engineneers to build this months attachment to the ship, or is this just me?

Erm, I saw this. What are you all talking about? Is this something packaged with the magazine?

It is a game packaged with the Demo Disc.

Yeah, same here... That's why I want to be able to start over. There's been at least 3 discs so far where you can run out of workers. If you could start over and save your points you'd be able to finish them. When they add achievements to the game (and they will. Scoff if you will but remember I'm the guy who put my credibility on the line when I gave the exact price point of the Elite 4 months before anyone else on this site was even sure they were making the thing) they will pertain to which "missions" you completed, and the only way to get all of them would be through replaying.

I know its on the hdd, because I've seen it before while browsing the hdd, but since I'm nice I'll take a pic..

Thats the only way to delete it, because the dashboard doesn't show saves for them.

I had to redo em because my old HDD got fried when there was a electrical outage..eh

Yeah, he's right. The data is stored on the hard drive, but it's just hidden, much in the same way that FFXI hides itself (only then it's taking up half your drive's free space)

I started spending the points on whatever I felt like when I first started, but when I got to around the 3rd disc I decided to just start banking my points for later, just in case.

Interesting, I never even thought about banking points. I had noticed that several times I would spend all 1000 points from a demo disc, and that would leave me in the middle of a task, unable to hire enough engineers. But I would finish those tasks a month later when the next disc came.

I assumed that the tasks, either the research or production, had to be done in a linear fashion. You complete one, which makes the next available. Meaning you wouldn't ever have the option to choose between multiple tasks.

Curious to hear how it works, if you're able to start over.

So, to the guys who (not suprisingly) know more than me about the saves... How can I delete them?? (btw I don't have the HDD transfer kit but if it is necessary for this task I may well buy it)
