That mine you found? Disarmed! Problem!!!

I have located and highlighted litterally 50 or more of these mines throughout campaigns and no one will disarm em is there an easy way apart from boosting it .

Easy method:

Private game: Stopwatch (30 minutes)
Difficulty: Easy
Map: Refeul
Team: Resistance
Min/Max team members: 4
Friendly fire: ON!!
(Start with a new Rank 1 character, that way the enemy AI will be even more stupid than usual)

First things first, blow the door and then grab the hydro. Now in the large open area before the hanger (if you take the main route) just keep fending off the enemies until they start planting mines infront of where you must place the hydro. The AI tends to not drop the mines if you are near the hanger, so after picking up the hydro stay in/near that hydro pick up area or at least some place where the AI cannot see you from the hanger (that's where they spawn) until they eventually place the mines.

Since you are the hydro carrier, all your teammates will change their objective to "escort" and will follow you. Once the enemy places a mine, clear out anybody nearby and make your way to the mine.

You should have at least 1 engineer teammate, when I did this I had 2 escorting me. If you have a teammate who is not engineer escorting you and you are at the mine KILL THEM since a non-engineer will blow the mine with a grenade when it's spotted.

Make sure when you are 5-10 feet from the mine that your friendly engineer is also near you and the mine (since they are escorting they should be, if not wait for them to get there). Once they are beside you/near the mine spot it. DO NOT SPOT IT UNTIL YOU AND YOUR ENGINEER ARE NEAR IT. The AI will only disarm it if it's spotted while they are in close proximity of it (5-10 feet).

Easy, easy! Trust me. You should be able to get it done well before the 30:00 minute timer ends. I did it in under 10 minutes using this method.

So I tried doing this, and the damned AI would not plant a landmine anywhere. I think it might of been because I started a new player, so the AI isnt advanced enough to think of setting mines ha :confused:

This method doesn't seem to want to work for me either. Enemy planted 2 mines in the 30mins, 1 got destroyed by nades, the other had an engineer stand right next to it and he wouldn't defuse. BaByJeZuZ, Id be happy to pair up on Live so we can both get this done if you want.

If they are not planting mines maybe try straying further away from the hydro drop off area (ie. hanger) that way the enemy won't engage in combat with you and your bots if you are too close to them and their spawn point.

I don't know what else to say but keep at it. I got it on the first mine I spotted, well second actually because the first time I had a soldier with me and he decided to huck a grenade at it.

Get them as close as possible to the mine before spotting it. Hell if you have to just stand on top of the mine and then spot it when they are beside you.

the method described worked for me eventually but after spotting the mine i crept onto it and had to then stand there until the engineer ran over and disarmed it BINGO!! thats my 1000 thank u. ps: dont go down to the plane until the mine is planted at the bottom of the ramps usually.

Well I'll set up a match and send out some invites.. For me, I had to play on medium for them to lay mines, and I had to sit out as far back from the hanger for them to lay mines.. then when I did go to have them disarm it, they kept running on top of them and blowing them up.. It was garbage. :mad:

I had to retry a match because my team had gotten to far so the enemy stopped planting mines.

I started a new character, blasted open the door, but then I noticed the enemy had laid down a mine down the path (towards the side door leading to the front of the hangar), so I spotted it and went on my way to look for another one and eventually, later, the achievement just popped, meaning I got kind of lucky with an engineer deciding to disarm it for me.

Thank god that's over with lol.

I did the way discribed, but it took 25 minutes for them to even start planting mines, 2 were there but the idiot AI fragged them. I went closest I could to one marked it and it took a while for the engineer to understand wtf was going on and to do it. But he eventually did it. So I would recommend just doing it this way rather than waiting for some git to help you with it, you cant rely on any cunt these days.

I tried the method with my higher limit character for hours, to no avail. Made a new character for the 3 star challenges, thought I'd try out the Refuel level with him and got the Achievement in 2 minutes. So perhaps it's easier to attain with a lower level character for some reason. Doesn't make sense why it would be, but might be worth a shot for those of you struggling to get it.

Perfect guide! I got it on my first mine. I decided to go the left route where you come through the Shutter Doors and they had placed a mine right next to the van. Thanks again man, this was by far the easiest way to achieve this one :woop:

This method worked for me...finally!!

Waited for hydrolic door to explode, waited for them to drop a mine (when in the depot, facing the door) to the left, and by then they were all guarding the plane. I shot any soldier nearby (on my team) to keep them from nading it, and as they came back, kept shooting, waiting for the engineer to finally pay attention to me. and Pop. achievement.

I can actually confirm that this works. it took me a while but i did it. i used my lvl 20 character and bumped the number of players down to 3. it helps if the enemy mine isnt near the bottom of the ramp so you can just sit next to it until the bots come over
