The w0rd is that this title is super glitchy and has a fatal glitch(the north american release anyway) is this true? I was really looking forward to this title but this new really sucks. Any of you guys have any problems?
I have a European title and there are no major glitches. A few graphical random ones and a drawbridge one, but nothing that stops me playing.
I you are in the USA then you should be careful if there is a 'fatal' glitch, otherwise you should be fine.

I have the euro release and there are no game stopping glitches, although there is a great one at the forge where you choose the minions to sacrifice, it plays the animation but stops after 3 minions. Meaning I've only sacrificed 3 minions but I get the upgrade of all of those I chose :)
Free upgrades for the win! :D

Where'd you hear about this "fatal" glitch?
I haven't heard anything about any serious glitches, and I've been on pretty much every major gaming board for this game. Unless there's some kind of glitch with the PC version - but PC games always have glitches.

Trust me, IGN isn't always right.
In fact, they're pretty much always wrong. :)
Theres a glitch that stops you from beating the game.

Just make sure when your in the brewery to turn the spikes and exit. I think it's in all the versions of the game. Thats the only major glitch and its easily avoidable. I beat the game without knowing about it, but I almost did activate the glitch.

Ok so whats everyones take, a rent or a buy?
If you want the full 1000 or to enjoy the game, buy. If you want to see if it is any good or are just looking for something to pass the time, rent.

I have come across a lot of little glitches and bugs and things that they really should have caught in testing but didn't... giving the choice though, I would buy this game again knowing about the bugs. The great thing about x-box live is that we get updates for games now to fix problems... the bad news is that developers seem to be becoming reliant on updates and doing minimal testing as a result.
Anyways, best way to describe the game (and I think tons of other people have said it too) it's definitely Pikmin meets Fable. It isn't a true RPG in the sense of leveling up and upgrading stats and what not but it's definitely a lot of fun :woop: I recommend a purchase but at the very least rent it since we finally see an original game after all this time.

IGN came across some pretty bad ones:
"The camera and control are a small complaint, needlessly frustrating though they might be. The weak puzzle design is largely counteracted by the good sense of humor and the sometimes-repetitive gameplay rarely seems so. The real issue with Overlord comes with the bugs. It seems that the mid-dungeon teleportation platforms have serious problems. Using one made the game forever think that I was just beginning a quest as I entered an area, replaying a cutscene that introduced a now dead boss. Another time, using the teleporter erased a key item, preventing me from moving ahead in the game. The game autosaves every time you use a teleporter, so unless you're starting a new save slot every time you load your game (a process that requires several extra and seemingly pointless steps), there is a potential to kill your game at any moment. My game was killed. After roughly 11 hours of playing, the game broke."

I haven't exactly come across any of those big ones but I have read about people complaining about them. most of those bugs just result in, as IGN said, from leaving during a mission. I for one like to see a mission get completed or at least a step of it completed... but once again it's definitely something they should have picked up in testing. It's just amazing that the game got OK'd and produced with these flaws... maybe Codemasters was just too focused on DiRT to really look this game over before hand... things will get better after they update the game with fixes. But the bugs really shouldn't stop anyone from playing since they are easily avoided anyways.
