The Battle of Pointe du Hoc

Last Christmas I got CoD2 and I wasn't really into it, but later when I started playing it on Veteran I was rolling along and then I got to this pain in the butt.

I've tried dozens of ways, but I can never get to the checkpoint after the you climb the hill. I tried to go the right bunker about 20 times and when I get out of that I just end up dieing, I've gone straight and just get mowed down after I get to that little fake gun thing.

Does anybody have any advice on what to do? I've looked at dozens of strategy guides, but I can never get it right.

There is a walkthrough at the top that has some good tips. Just make sure that you throw about 2 smoke grenades, get across to the right corner, and blind-fire while you lay down.
