I have both achievements in shooting gallery, yet hunt for gold
hasn't popped. Suggestions?

Did you do them both on the same season file? I had accidentally loaded up the wrong file when I came back to do the prairie dogs and had to redo it on my original season file in which I had already done the Hunters Challenge courses.
