Granny help requested :(

I am not really all that bad at games. I have tried for over an hour to beat Granny. Just a second ago I got her almost all the way dead and I had full life...suddenly the cats roll in yet again. For some reason or another, she gets her hands around me and I die within two of these, though I do press the button very quickly. There are 4 difficult settings, I am on thriller, which should be assumed as Medium. WTF

This is one TOUGH battle for me, and it scares me to see so many of you didn't even post about it, but talk about other "real hard bosses". Maybe I didn't do something right? I only have an axe with Zack, which Ive had the whole game. I have not really had any weapons to pick up, and its the only thing I can use against Granny. I bought the nails but they did nothing. The special power hit is the only thing I can see taking damage, yet its nearly suicide to pull it off. She will grab me or throw a cat on me wasting the charge. Another annoying thing is while whacking monsters, it will go off by itself, wasting it!

Any good tips on how to beat Granny? Am I doing this wrong?

first off this game is sooo much easier when you are playing co-op.. but if that is not available then what i normally do throughout the ENTIRE game is a combination of the shotgun/cocktails(the flamy grenades?).... when she does that stupid cat shield around her jes throw a cocktail in there (an achievement as well) and i just circle around whomever with the shotgun... of course, since its a shotgun, the closer the better..

if a boss in this game does a melee attack it is usually better to keep a distance from them... the dodge technique is a MUST to learn to use, espiecally in the harder modes....

i hope this helps, if not let me know whats up again and i will see what i can do, since i cant advance any farther due to a STUPID GLITCH ON A BOSS BATTLE... LAME... but i heard that they are coming out with a patch... lets hope... lets pray... lets, do something

I just kept running around her in circles with the shot gun, and then used the flame thrower when her shield of cats was up (also unlocks the achievement). After you kill her cat shield, she will toss out ammo and drinks. Hopefully it will be a balanced thing. I was always getting one or the other, which didn't help too much.

This game is a lot more challenging than I had thought it would be, but I like that.
