Hey,
Just got home today, thought i'd play a bit of rb6, turned it on and i have an "unplayable disc" message. Restarted the console 3 times, same thing. Tried every game, 20 or so, and all of them have this same error. The console worked absolutely fine yesterday and isn't modded or anything like that. Anyone have any idea whats wrong? Any helps appreciated,
thanks.
Try cleaning the disc with a cloth or some of those fancy (and frighteningly expensive) dvd cleaning wipes.
Chances are it is a bad disc or your 360 is not very happy. Do any other games work?

Hey Zef,
All my game discs are totally immaculate, none are scratched, and i've tried around 20 games in it so far and none work. I can do everything else with the console, play arcade games and such, but no discs will read - I'll try a DVD in a minute and see if that gets me anywhere
Well if none of your games work you are having hardware issues. The DVD player probably needs some tinkering of the expensive microsoft variety.

Don't give up so easilly, bro! You might wanna try using a lens cleaning disc. There might be some specs of dust sitting on it.

I've never actually had anything like this malfunction before - How do i access the lens to clean it? Really frustrating as well, bought DiRT the other day and only had the chance to play it twice =/
If you buy a lens cleaning disc you just have to pop it into the disc tray, close it and it will do its work. I've never used them before but they will be available somewhere on the net for a cheap price.
If it is fixed but comes back then you should just swap machines.

Ahh ok cheers for the help. I thought i'd just take a step forward and call Microsoft anyways, so they're collecting it soon, but if i manage to sort it before i have to do that it'd be cool. Apparently its gonna take around 4 weeks to return, that just sucks..

Im with Rival on this one, the fact is, somtimes your 360 drive reads Games as DVD'S, this is a very common problem that occurs almost everyday in somone elses home, it usualy is the Drives fault and not yours or the disks, obviusly try cleaning wipes but if that doesn't fix it then contact Customer Support (*gulp*!, I never say that) but in this case just a quick trip down to... wherever it is should save you the horrible hassle of panic! that your Xbox is broken, I hope its not the case mate but just consider the options!

Your disc drive is dead. Mine is too. If you haven't already sent it off, listen to it when you put a disc in. Mine does nothing. Easy way to tell.

I've had the dreaded 'please insert disc into an xbox 360 console' message. FROM MY 360!!!! Clean everything, check for tiny scratches on the discs, etc.,

I have 2 really good friends that I hang out with all the time, and the same thing happened to the both of them. One was a core console and the other a premium. Apparently the disc drives aren't made all that well, because now mine is making noise as well.
