Anyone having any luck with it this year? Right now I am stuck at Mark Teix. #12. I edit Mark's stats and he is still crushing 4 to 5 a round. Here I am taking pitches and can only muster 3-4 a round. Mark is not even taking pitches.

Me too. The No. 16 Cabrera is really annoying. Stuck in this and can't hit more than 7 homeruns. Suck.

By the way, 2k11 can't adjust the weight, height, and birth date.

I finally got passed Teix, but now I am stuck on Ryan Howard number 14.

Do ties not count this year? I tied 2-2 with Howard and it said I lose, but last year I know if I tied it let me advance,

So far I have breezed though 1-15 (am on 15 right now) I only had to replay 2 people.


I am using


-Aramis Ramirez (Cubs)
-Classic Controls
-Oriole Park
-Gusty
-Lowered every guy's stats against righties to 25
-Raised all of A.R's stats against righties to 99


-Am hitting 8-10 a game
-Opposing hitters are hitting max 5 or 6.


EDIT: WELL 17-20 sucks


Also, Prince Fielder freaking blows. He hits a constant 10-15 home runs. I still don't see how it's possible to beat him. Best I have done is 7, on this game he hit 17 home runs, and this is with all stats lowered.


FINALLY: I beat him 8-7. He was so close to coming back. I was about one second away from a broken controller. Why can't 2k learn, if a guy is rated overall below 30 then a overall 99 should kill him. :(

FYI: I switched to Yankee Stadium for Prince.

Just keep on trying, I got the achievement last night at like 2 A.M. They all had one bad game (less than 10 home runs) is a bad game for the top 3 or 4.

Is it harder to hit homeruns when you get to the 2nd round of players starting with Thome? I was able to hit 9-11 each round but once I got to Thome I was lucky to hit 4. Is it just me?

doesnt matter if you hit 100, the computer will keep it close because it rubberbands like a mofo, im hitting like 25 a game and still get beat sometimes

I think it increases the regular difficulty every 5 batters (Rookie, Pro, etc.) So your batting stats go down and the computers go up. It's getting annoying.

I Know I'm out of answers I can barely hit more than 1 HR against Cabrera and he's hitting at least 7. This needs to be patched. Someone with a 30 rating shouldn't be clobbering the ball.

I kept making it gusty at either Oriole Park or Yankee Stadium and got through Cabrera after 2-3 tries, made it past Fielder in 1 try, and it took me several tries against Dunn but not many (maybe 5-6). But freakin Jose Bautista-wow. It just aint happening for me lol.

besides gusty, which side of the plate are you hitting from, and are you using classic or total control?

I can't hit any HRs against Cabrera I found in previous round that pushing up on the LS helped with hitting HRs. Did you switch your batter becasue if you need to do that to win I'm screwed because I didn't

I just got the cheeve, here's what I did:

1. Maxed out EVERYTHING on David Wright, even fielding at every position. I used him the entire time, batters 1-20.
2. Used Yankee Stadium or Oriole Park, made it gusty every time.
3. I used classic controls. I held the LS up and diagonally to the left when I swung using the A button. I never took a pitch, I swung at everything.
4. Every time I would get to the next batter, I would go back to rosters and lower EVERYTHING on that player as low as I could, even fielding and everything else.
5. If I lost I would go back to the main menu and switch up fields and if that failed after 3-4 tries, I would just turn the xbox off and try again later. The only ones that took over 4 tries I think was Dunn and Bautista.
6. Most of the times I won hitting 7-10 hr max. This thing is very random and you just have to catch it when they have a bad game.

If I can think of anything else later I will post it. Basically just stick with it because it is very random.

Yep, that would happen with Adam Dunn and Bautista when i played. Just stick with it, they WILL have a bad game, just don't give up. Trust me, I got pissed off, too! If they are down by a HR with one out left, you just know what is coming...Lol.

I've been playing at Fenway with Carlos Quentin I'll change up the stadium and see if I can actually hit some HRs. Thanks for all the advice.

I beat Cabrera, Fielder & Dunn in Yankee Stadium with wind set to gusty as well. Seemed to help, but I`ve yet to have any luck with Bautista. I`ll keep you posted.

Keep playing in Yankee Stadium with gusty wind. Now I used Kendrys Morales and pushed the thumbstick up & slightly to the left while trying to time the swing for pull. Just keep trying. Seems to me that it is a bit easier after Cabrera. I did beat all of the last 5 guys with these settings.

I didn`t switch at all. I tried to take Ryan Howard before Cabrera, but I must not have saved properly when I shut down. I rebooted & still had Kendrys Morales. It shouldn`t matter as long as you max your guy & make him as big as you can. Make all the other guys as small as you can. Not sure if it helps, but that`s what I did.

Yeah, I'm glad you mentioned that because I forgot about that part. I also made every guy xxsmall as well.

I already did that I've noticed that the ball comes in faster from the pitcher if you are playing on an HD T.V. as opposed to a regular T.V. the ball comes in slower.

Took me about 4-5 tries for Prince Fielder
Beat Adam Dunn on first try 13-12
and wow, Bautista is annoying, took me 5-6 tries
beat Pujols 8-5

so yea, just keep trying. Some rounds I would hit 0-2 home runs, and then I hit 15

I did this doing what the others suggested in using Yankee Stadium and putting the wind on gusty. Also, I lowered ALL their stats...I don't know if that actually did anything.

I used Chase Utley, so I was pulling the ball to right field but it still worked well (It feels like in 15-20, dead center home runs become impossible and you must pull the ball or hit it to the opposite field) I would struggle to hit even one home run in some rounds, but just keep trying and changing parks. Bautista was destroying me, decided to try Citizens Bank Park, and beat him on 2nd attempt there.

Wow, thanks! And do you think it pays to change batters because I switched from Aramis Ramirez to A-Rod when I had the opportunity to and i legit had to start over because he was that bad and could barely hit 2 hr's.

I don't think you need to. I would just jack one guy's stats all the way up and just use him the whole time, you should be fine. I jacked all of David Wright's stats all the way up and used him the whole time and I got the cheevo. Just follow all the other advice in this thread, be patient, and you should be fine.

i didn't edit anyone's stats all i did was i made everyone left handed and changed the park to Minute Maid. I used Aramis Ramirez and then switched to Mike Stanton who bats right. And as anyone who knows baseball knows, Minute Maid is a right handers dream park with its short left field porch. I beat Albert by hitting 37 and he only had 26

no, it saves after every player you surpass. next time you go to start it, it gives you the option to pick up where you left off.

Anyone else experience anything like this? Am I going to have to start completely over? I'm not worried about it being hard (it's not) just about spending all that time doing such a mind-numbingly boring game mode.

This happened to me to, i reset my rosters than it worked after that.

I'll try that. It may have had something to do with Pujols being on the DL...If that is the case it may be fixed now that he has made his ridiculously fast recovery and is off the DL.


Update: The rosters haven't been updated to show Pujols off the DL. Loaded it one more time without erasing rosters. It again didn't put his name or picture in the upper right. Quit out and reset rosters. THIS WORKED. I now am almost 100% sure that this glitch is a result of Pujols being on the DL. So if anyone else runs into this problem with another player on the DL try RESETING YOUR ROSTER.

In case anyone wants to avoid resetting rosters in this situation, you can also just select Pujols in the roster management section and "Heal Injuries". That did the trick for me.
