View Full Version : Fightstick question

I am deciding on either getting the tournament edition fightstick or the Blazblue: Continuum Shift one. I'm totally new to them but I was wondering which would be better to use if I wanted to use the sticks for other games like Blazblue, Marvel vs. Capcom, etc. Would I be at a disadvantage with not having the 8 button curve layout or does the MK's 6 button layout work better.

Go for the MadCatz BlazBlue Arcade Fightstick TE if you're really set on that. It's also nearly identical to all the MadCatz TEs but the button layout is different. I'd personally recommend getting a regular MadCatz TE (SFIV layout) because nearly every fighting game has a default control scheme mapped for that layout. The reason why I would choose a MadCatz stick over the MKTE stick is that the MK stick uses Happ parts which are widely considered as inferior to the Sanwa parts in the TE sticks. In addition, if you're really stuck on having the "X" pattern button layout that the MK stick offers, MadCatz sells an official replacement top panel for their TE sticks that you can swap out.
Most useful TE stick in my opinion (http://store.gameshark.com/viewItem.asp?idProduct=4761&idCategory=286)
"Combat" Fightstick top panel (http://store.gameshark.com/listCategoriesAndProducts.asp?idCategory=328)

I know you have your heart set on the two you mentioned but you may want to reconsider for this one. Hori is a reliable brand and it's the one I would get if I wanted a fight stick. MadCatz is complete shit imo.
