Revelations? How do you place the turrets?

OK, I zoom all the way into the map and then place the turret in the middle of the white box. Then I release the turret from the tractor beam....nothing happens and the planet gets destroyed....What am i doing wrong?

Anyone pass this stage? I've tried 5 times now and I'm not sure what the requirement is. How do you get the turret placed at each of the planets?

Sounds like you're not getting them in the exact spot required - one of the white boxes is a little higher and one a little lower than the horizontal plane of the turrets so you'll need to ascend/descend accordingly. Eitherway, you'll know when you've hit the spot because the tractor beam will automatically disengage, you don't need to do anything. Just remember that the turret is being towed some distance behind the ship so you'll have to pass through the white box in order to bring the turret into it. HTH

What jddevil said. The only time you should have to manually release the weapons platforms is if you're trying to place some near the satellites for the achievement for that level.

Awesome. Thanks for the advice. Say, do you have to move all the turrets or only 1 per white box? I'm guessing its only 1 since others turrets would be required for the achievement.

Yeah, its one turret per white box. The others can be used to help protect the sensor relays for the Custodian of Phidian achievement - just make sure that you send your ships to destory the asteroids where they spawn as soon as you can, now use one ship to tow a turret next to each sensor. Just keep an eye out for the odd asteroid slipping through, if any get close to the planets warp a ship over and take it out, then move it back towards the spawn point at full impulse taking out asteroids as it goes.

It has already been posted on here in a couple of threads but I'll repeat it because its good advice: buy one Apollo scout ship, with power diverted to engines it is mega fast and you'll be deploying turrets in a fraction of the time it takes the other ships. It is possible to complete this level, with both acheivements, using only the Stargazer and an Apollo. I managed it on Ensign and Captain difficulty but had to use an extra ship on Admiral.
