View Full Version : Possibly the best game for the 360!

So, I finally decided to get this game since a lot of my friends said that it was great, they could not be more right. This game goes over the top in almost every single way possible: gameplay, language, violence, gore (sort of).
The only problem with it is that they reused some of the audio for Gears of War 2, Unreal Tournament 3 and Undertow. If anyone's still thinking about buying this then get it.

Best game for 360? Yeah, I love this game and have had a ton of fun playing it but best game? I doesn't even make the top 20.

I haven't played it yet, but what makes it so good? I'm just curious because I plan to start it after I beat AC brotherhood.

It's good but not the best there are way too many titles to even literally classify the actual one true best game for the 360

Definitely not the best. While I love this game and think it's really quite enjoyable, I play it for the fun, not the quality of game.
Since the bar is set incredibly high for games to have a strong storyline and/or high quality visuals/gameplay/multiplayer (which is PERFECTLY just; games must improve to keep the hobby interesting), it didn't get amazing reviews as did games like gears of war, halo, GTA, etc. because it didn't bring quite enough new to the table.
That being said the skillshot system is very fun, although easy to master. You have to like this game to make it worth the purchase. I think it was definitely worth it, tbh.
For pre-ordering I got 25k exp for multiplayer, a special leash color and gears 3 beta early access, and a free $5 deposit to pre-ordering gears 3, so definitely a solid incentive package for this fun game.

To each his own but not even close imo
The best games on 360 for me revolutionize the genre they're in. Hell some even change the way we look at every other genre as well. I take small breaks from BS and I'm not really committed to the story just yet. It's still pretty early (I'm only in chptr 2), but the games on my top list grabbed me from the menu to the closing credits.

I wouldn't go that far but it's certainly a fun worth while game to play. The humor is awesome, reminds me of the humor in duke nuk'em.

I agree with the above quote. Although I am also not yet done with the campaign, it has already proven intelectually shallow. I've already seen several high-octane, over-the-top set pieces, which are fun. However, just because it's fun doesn't mean it makes sense. I guess that's the benefit of setting the story on a well-developed alien planet.
The action is intense and nonstop, but I find it very, very repetitive. The focus on the game is creative and varied environmental kills, but I find this gets kinda boring. Instead of finding 130+ different ways to brutally murder someone, I would've rather had a multiplayer system that would let me blast other people in the face in PvP deathmatch or some other mode. The only competitive multiplayer component is score-based competition. This game very much reminds me of an FPS version of The Club mixed with the GoW series.
While this game seems to be fun for now (after <10 hour playtime), the multiplayer seems to be nothing more than a meek, score-based version of CoD: MW2 spec ops missions.
Seems like yet another under-developed game whose publisher went over-the-top in advertising fees (including somehow getting it on the cover of Game Informer), because advertising is cheaper than paying actual people needed to make a great game. Epic is clearly shelling out the dough for GoW3, and relying on that game as a cash cow for the company. This game stays well away from my top 20. Graphics, goriness, and fun factor probably drop it in the top 50.
You must have just started...
After beating the Campaign and Echo, the awesomeness wears off. It's great fun, but it's not a timeless classic.

Its...alright? Idk. im not to far into the game so i have no say if its the best. Only thing that gets me so far is it feels so damn repetitive. Maybe that will wear off in later levels..i hope :/

It's funny how people think a game that offers 130+ skillshots that can also be combined in many ways, is repetitive. What do you do in COD? Point, shoot, point, shoot, point, shoot. What provides more entertainment value?

Not THE BEST, but definitely ONE OF the best on the 360 without a doubt, in my opinion, and I've easily logged 25-30 hours into the game so far (minimum) and no 'novelty' has worn off for me yet.
Then again, I'm the "play Echoes over and over just to get that extra 20 points" kinda guy, it's all about the high scores, leaderboard positions, and staying on top of my friends list ;)
In that, this game has tons of replayability for me.

why does everyone have to compare something to Cod? seriously. I play it but did i say i love it and that this game is inferior to cod? nope. Just dont find it to be to "amazing". the skillshots are fun to get and hunt for but after trying and getting them it leaves me with the "thats it" taste.
btw to answer your question neither.
congrats on 1st post

its a great game but not best game for the 360 great. Dont get me wrong the story is awesome and i love how they progress it and i cant wait for the second one to find out what happened but it gets repetitive quick. After campaign it gets extremely boring. I dont want to grind to lvl 65. I dont want to play the game over again in time trial mode. its lame. I will like how theyll fix the repetitive problem in bulletstorm 2 because its hard to work around with this type of game.

comparing it to just FPS games i think it is one of the best. Has to be in the top 5! comparing it to other games is dumb u can't compare an FPS to an RPG just doesn't work. I think this is way better than GTA4, Its a toss up to reach, better than black ops and i think its better than gears. If u like shooters its a must get game. The visuals on this game are some of the best to the 360. I know not everyone will agree but thats my opinion. Love that its a shooter that makes me laugh and i enjoy the fact that in Anarchy it FORCES u to work as a team not many games can do that. This game isn't perfect but its still a Great game. O and 65 on this game isn't that bad.....Try other Achievements like seriously. Its called an ACHIEVEMENT for a reason u actually have to put in time and work for some of them ;) I say this is a GOTY Canidate so far but there will probally be even better games this yr for sure.

It's not the best, but it's way up there. This games is a lot of fun though. It's way better than a lot of games that I have been playing.

Don't get me wrong I love the game and I think it's really fun. However one I don't feel the story while having funny dialog is very deep and it is rather buggy so calling it "the best on the 360" I feel is a little over reaching.

Not as good as Gears although best game this year so far, just find it funner than Dead Space 2 which is also amazing.
Won't retain GOTY though, I mean Portal 2, Gears 3, Mass Effect 3. Maybe CoD will be good but I doubt it.

I LOVE this game so much but all the massive titles coming out towards the end of the year will unfortunately make this forgotten about by December.
Which is a shame coz I applaud Epic for taking a tired old genre and having the balls to add something fresh.

There is no way I'd call it "the best" game for the 360. However, it is one of my new favorites, for sure. I'm loving the living sh*t out of this game! It does a fantastic job of scratching that Borderlands/Gears itch.

I'll definitely second this. After finishing all the Campaign and Echo achievements I've lost a fair amount of interest in the game. I'll keep doing some Echoes here and there and may keep going for the Anarchy achievements but for the most part I'm pretty burnt on the game unless they release some Campaign/Echoes DLC.

When I decided that this game was the best blessing brought to us in human history I was partially through the first level of the game. Sine I have completed the story and played some of the other game modes and I admit my opinion has indeed changed quite dramatically.
Let me first start by talking about the Skill points system. When playing the demo one of the few things I loved about it was that there was a leaderboard to compare the skill points score for every player. Which made it all the more disappointing when I found out it was used as a currency system for the singleplayer campaign. You get points for kills; the more creative you are about butchering your foes the more skill points that are awarded to you. This is all well and good, but for the first third of the game you have to spend practically all the points that you earn. Mainly because by then you still haven’t unlocked many skill shots and you need to upgrade your weapons. As for the other two thirds of the game you get hordes many enemies placed around conveniently placed hazards which leads to your skill points counter to go berserk and leave you with so many points that I’m sure it would be impossible to spend all of you points I’d bought everything at the supply drop. The transition from poor to rich seems to be non-existent. It just seems to happen over the course of a single cut scene. Now all of that aside I would love an explanation to why the game couldn’t keep track of the total amount of skill points that I had accumulated in that level and posted it onto a leaderboard.
In the trailers Grayson Hunt (the guy that you play as) w as portrayed as a badass who has some depth to him because his superiors betrayed him. Well, it seems the hype manipulated me again. All of this characters sensitive side is contained during cut scenes in the first and last five minutes of the game. Other than that the only thing that comes from his mouth are dick and ass jokes. Don’t get me wrong, it is by no means a bad thing, but if it was anyone else than Steve Blum voicing Grayson then there would be nothing to love about this character.
The game play is original, fun and crazy. Without skill shots this game would have suffered dramatically due to the lack of variety of weapons. However, that works in the game favour, forcing you to be more creative with what little you have. I often found myself using new or different combinations of weapons to see what could net me the best skill shots. Some of the mechanics of the game also make it unique such as: the leash, the slow motion melee and sliding through countless lines of attacking foes never gets old. Or at least that’s how you feel about it for the first half hour of the game before the novelty of it all wears off.
Overall this is a great game that took the FPS genre in a new direction. It has a decent length of campaign and a few other game modes to keep you busy after you’ve finished it. While there is a lot, lot more I could say about this game, but my lack of motivation to write lots and writing talent tells me I shouldn’t bother.
