I posted it here as we donot have a Tomb Raider Anniversary thread, once one is made could a member of staff plz move ty. Sorry for any inconvienience caused.
According to gamesindustry.biz (http://www.gamesindustry.biz/content_page.php?aid=25859) Eidos have finally confirmed that it goes plan to release Tomb Raider Anniversary on the Xbox 360 as a series of downloadable episodes starting in September.
The content - Xbox Live's first ever serialisation of a full retail game will be made available for owners of Tomb Raider Legend to purchase through Xbox Live Marketplace. In September "Episodes 1 & 2" will be offered along with "Croft Manor" which will be a free training mission and the following two episodes will arrive "shortly afterwards".
Eidos then plans to release a full retail version of Tomb Raider Anniversary "later in the year" that will put it within reach of consumers who did not purchase Legend. Tomb Raider Legend owners will have to pay 2400 Microsoft points (GBP 20.40 / EUR 27.91 / USD 29.99) for all four episodes of TRA.
Jane Cavanagh, chief executive of Eidos's parent company SCi, said the episodic approach was part of the publisher's strategy to grow its presence in online and digital distribution.
"Lara has always been at the forefront of technology and this world first initiative with Microsoft really highlights that fact. Ultimately we also intend to make the title available at retail so that it reaches the maximum possible audience," she said in a statement.

I am glad you posted this... I was beginning to get upset that they weren't releasing it for 360. I figured Legends did well enough. I am a little weirded out on the release format though... not sure if I like that...

Yea just like Oblivion you have to pay another 2400 MS points :( which is sad to be honest why don't they just rls a new game rather than having to get DLC for Tomb Raider Legends......

If you look at it in one sense, it's saving us anywhere between £10-£20.
On the other hand, we're missing out on all the new sugar coating. I'm not sure what else was revised in the Anniversary edition, but the PC version now has some rather beautiful DOF we'll (probably) miss out on via these content packages.
Cheers for the info!

i'm confused and curious how this will play out in the "achievement" area. each download going to be worth 250 pts bringing the entire game to a total of 1500 pts? or will they split up the DLC pts to comply with that max point rule of M$.......
i've always been a big fan of tomb raider so i'll probly get the DLC but i agree with xdigitalangelx, the format their planning weirds me out too.

I totally agree with you m8 100%. But like the news says for people who do not have the game they will rls > Eidos then plans to release a full retail version of Tomb Raider Anniversary "later in the year" that will put it within reach of consumers who did not purchase Legend < Now that is where i get confused so will it be aa total of 1000/1000 Gamer Points?. I look forward to hearing more news on this and keep this thread updated.

I enjoyed Tomb Raider Legend quite a bit, but I'll probably wait until they wait until they release the new content on a disc. I'm sick of this crap where you can't play your DL content offline once your xbox breaks.

When I first heard the news that they were bringing Tomb raider anniversary to 360 as a download I was upset, but I still would probably download it because I really want to play the first Tomb Raider again. Now that you guys said that they are planing to release it on disc later this year, I will probably wait so I can rent it from gamefly and save my money and memory on my 360. I also wish they would release an expansion disc for shivering isles for oblivion. I know they are making an Oblivion that has the expansion packs on it, but I dont want to rebuy the game, I just want the expansion. AAHHH. Sometimes I hate DL content, it is way too overpriced. Sorry, just needed to vent.

I haven't been all that impressed with DLC thus-far, and will most likely just wait for it to be released on a disc.
Fantastic news that its being released for the 360 tho.

Will be looking forward to see how this pans out, as I enjoyed Tomb Raider Legend and a chance to get more achievements on a Tomb Raider game in this Anniversary edition will be great. :D

So they're pretty much releasing a whole game through Xbox Live. Awesome! But what about gamerscore? Would they add another 250?

As far as I can tell, and from what the achievements tell me, it looks to have 1000pts on it own. The same game as legends with dlc and new achievements..... I still need to play legends.
