Billy and the Shopping Cart. This is the next boss I ran into in the game that was rather difficult to defeat. I want to let people know how to beat him.
He is encountered in Chapter 2 Level 8.
Billy and his shopping cart of doom(more like a train) have 6 stages. 4 stages of mini bosses and then one stage with the main part of the train and then the final stage is defeating billy himself. Now what's hard about this fight is actually not the boss himself per say, but the driving. You have to drive in an ATV and the controls aren't what everybody is used to, I died 3 times before I got used to the driving controls. Let me explain. The controls are mapped not to the direction your car is facing but to the actual map. If you are at the top left part of the map in order to go down you have to press down, it makes sense right? But when you are actually on this boss you will notice that your car is facing in a different direction, so your first instinct is to press left, not down. At the same time you have to be holding the right analog in the direction of the train and you have to hold the right trigger too. It IS really confusing and gets you killed.
Anyway, at the start go up to your ATV and get in. Pretty much everything in the mall is destructible so don't be afraid to just drive right through most of the objects in your way. You can only shoot the tail of the train right now and it happens to be a fat guy throwing pipe bombs at you. He throws them rather slow so you just have to keep up with the train and keep shooting, you will fail at this miserably until you can get the hang of the controls. Once he dies onto the next stage. You now have to destroy a cart full of pipe bombs, this one throws like 2 bombs at the same time and throws them over and over in quick succession. Here you REALLY have to keep up with the train and maybe get along side it and shoot it up, but if you just stay behind it prepare to take some damage. Make all your shots count as it is impossible to take this stage out without taking damage, so the longer it takes to kill it, the more damage you receive. 3rd stage is like a zombie shooting furniture at you, he just throws one piece in quick succession so you can actually trail the train a little to the side and not get hit. The trick is this, the 4th stage, which you actually can't attack yet, is a guy with a turret, and he starts shooting you once you get to that 3rd stage.
So yes you will be taking heavy damage, but don't get discouraged, the ATV can actually take a heavy amount of damage and should last you until the 5th stage. Once you kill the 3rd stage, the 4th stage(turret guy) will keep shooting and here it becomes a who dies first thing. You can't really dodge his bullets and keep shooting him at the same time, so just trail behind him and keep shooting. He should die way before your ATV starts to get heavily damaged, but keep an eye on the ATV's health, as it does come close to being destroyed if you don't keep consistent fire. Anyway, once you are done with that onto the 5th stage, the final part of the train. Here you are going to want to get off the ATV no matter what as it is way easier to maneuver around him on foot. The train head does really erratic movements and circles around alot, so nail guns is the only thing that really works, so just anticipate the train and dodge and shoot a whole bunch.
Once you destroy that part it isn't over yet so don't just stand around. The train is gone but billy is still alive. He will be among the horde of enemies that are still around. So keep jumping around and shooting until you notice a maniac with a machete just swinging it all over the place...this is Billy. Once you kill him, you are done.
This boss is not hard, I promise, but what makes him difficult to beat is the weird way the developers make you drive the vehicle here. Get used to it and you will be fine. Also, you can have balls of steel this time around. What I mean is, most of the time you will be receiving damage, but don't worry since the first stage you shouldn't really get damaged and the next stages all the way until the head of the train should be destroyed before your ATV does.
