Why would I buy a game I already own?

No.

No, I wouldn't.

GTA: San Andreas was good in the concept you had so much to do but all the gangster crap got old really quick. I'd prefer it if they went to a new city or country to spice the series up. Although most GTA games are set in America so I doubt it.

Speaking of GTA: San Andreas, I just purchased it through on-demand to my Hard Drive, I'm waiting for it to download as I speak. :Bounce:

I stopped enjoying GTA after GTA 2, I liked the top town view, once it went 3D I did not enjoy it as much...mostly because for a game that revolves around driving..the driving controls always seem to be horrible.

I've never been a fan of GTA, so, no.

Feels pretty stupid to do that, I would rather see them make a new GTA.

Absolutely not.

Now if Vice City was to be re-made, that would be a different story.

No, no, no! San Andreas seemed to be built for idiots. I'd much rather see a sequel to GTA IV.

Agreed. Vice City was, and still is, my favourite GTA game. I would buy that, and GTA3, in a heart beat.

Nope not really since I already picked it up during Christmas for 400points, if only it came with achievements too LOL.

Yea thats true.
For me GTA San Andreas was the reason i decided to buy a Xbox 360 over a Nintendo. Its still the best GTA out there, but maybe thats because im into the westcoast gangsta rap thing lol But even without the gangsta gangsta it would still be the best GTA considering the large open world and all the fun gaming options it offers.
GTA 4 was a bit disappointing for me. Even Vice City was better. Best alternative on the 360 would be Saints Rown 1 or 2 since it has (almost) the same fun as San Andreas. Too bad the achievements for Saints Row is so damn hard lol

Answering the question: if the graphics would be a huge improvement i think i might buy it (budget)

it was a great game but times have moved on and the gameplay is quite laborious and dragged out, maby if it was an extra on the next gta game or a revamped xbla game then i would consider it

Depends on the price, but graphics wouldn't be the selling point for me. If they re-released it for a decent price and it had achievements, I would probably want to buy it. Like others have said, though, if they're going to go through the trouble of revamping an older game, I'd rather just see them make a new one (which I'm sure they're doing anyway).

I wasn't a fan of San Andreas so no I wouldn't buy an updated version, even if achievements where involved.

I did however enjoy Vice City a lot and look forward to the next installment of the GTA series.

Well, I got San Andreas for *free* for PC (wink wink), and it as the AO version as well... :O

But I probably wouldn't play it again, the story would be the same, a graphical update wouldn't be enough to send me back. Not to mention I could never pass the final mission. No lock-on makes it much tougher...

I truly loved GTA: San Andreas for the xbox, personally instead of "remaking" it. Why not just make a sequel to it or make a new GTA instead ;)

Absolutely I would buy it. GTA: San Andreas is my favourite game of ALL TIME. I'd like to see a sequel to it more though...

Absolutely not. I agree with the previous posters preferring Vice City. I didn't like San Andreas, too "hood" for me I guess.

Why is there so much hating on SA in this thread?

No, no, no! San Andreas seemed to be built for idiots. I'd much rather see a sequel to GTA IV.

This bothers me in particular because it strikes me as a comment you can't qualify. For example, I got it on sale during the Christmas promotion and have been playing it the last few days and loving it, and by no means do I consider myself an idiot (granted there's a lot of bias there).

I can agree that people who are "gangsta" in real life are generally fuckwits but you don't have to be one of them to play and enjoy SA. Although it's still a story driven by revenge I like how they stepped back from the mafia theme they used in 3 and Vice and used a gang theme instead.

---

Back on topic... if they remade it the buying factor would not be the graphics (because an update is a given) but the engine. It's also given that they would need an update that as well but if they used the GTA IV engine I would not buy it. I'm not dissing that engine either since I did enjoy GTA IV but I had infinitely more fun on the last-gen GTA games where they weren't so concerned with realism.

I loved San Andreas, but no. I've finished it three or four times, so a version that basically just had fancier graphics doesn't appeal to me. I'd miss the shovel hands too :D

I had never played GTA San Andreas, so I tried it on the PC and I had trouble appreciating the game given how outdated it is. I liked the more serious (less ghetto) Niko Belic from GTA IV. In San Andreas, I felt like some pathetic thug, whereas in GTA IV, I felt like a ruthless, atleast somewhat cunning, criminal

Nah, "sweetie" graphics from GTA 4 wouldn't suit San Andreas. And I already have it on PC and PS2, completed it numerous amount of times, and might do it again - it's my favorite game of all time.

I liked that they actually took the piss out of CJ for being little more than a mindless thug. It's the sense of humour Rockstar's games have that most of the knock-offs miss completely.

That says one of two things, and neither proves that he'd play a re-release of San Andreas. Either:

A) He's got a little kid that's playing these games, which means he probably wouldn't buy San Andreas for them.
B) He's a whore that likes easy achievements, which means he probably still wouldn't get San Andreas because that game wouldn't have easy achievements.

1. an achivement hunter with over 100k Gs(or anyone really) likley wouldnt allow anyone else to hunt for him.
2.Yes it probably would have easy cheeves because they would spend the time remaing the game not worrying about the cheeves. The hardest would probably to obtain all collectables.
