Is this something that is just 'luck' that happens?

the only couple times ive managed to get it, was playing against an Amateur level CPU...but i got 2. The rest, they DONT freakin dive for they just reach out and miss. im smashing them to the opposite side, cutting them to the other side, whatever...it just seems to be something that RANDOMLY happens.

between this achievement, the stupid javelin one, and trying to win at champion boxing (and killing my arms and shoulders) im getting irritated!!! lol

Play on the easiest difficulty and work them around the table, get them on one side and try to smash to the other side..it is random as you said but keep trying and you'll get it....try to do a lot of top spin shots.

I wouldn't do it against the absolute easiest difficulty. I did it my first try against the "amateur" difficulty, just work them over to one side and topspin it to the opposite side and you'll get a dive-roll every once in awhile. You'll get it soon.

I managed to do it on the easiest level, but it could just be because I am l33t :nana

Never rolled for me on the lowest setting. Go up a level and they should do it alot.

ive tried on beginner (nothing) amateur (maybe 2 times in one match ...at around the 9-x point, so a little too late) and then professional nothing...

this and the javelin one are frustrating!

Dont smash the ball. Hit it one way to move the CPU over then hit it the other side and they should dive over on Regular settings.

I found smashing the ball also resulted in it flying pat the cpu just work them at both sides, it will come eventually

just got all excited.. I thought I had it but it turns out that when they dive it doesn't count, but I guess that only makes sense.

EDIT: Just got it. I switched to amateur and got it on my first try. Was playing on Professional before. None of my rolls came off of smashes.. It was all top spin shots to the outsides. Keep at it.

I can also confirm that amateur is the best to do this on. Got it last night. Just make them move. I got the guy to roll over 8 times (sometimes 2 on the same ball).

I found that if I stepped sideways a bit and got the screen to move across a little, then my angles were better, and I got them to roll more often.

Alright, I just got this achievement today. In my opinion.. this will take a few tries, so patience or just tolerance is key.

Difficulty: Amateur, make sure you work them to one side, and usually once you hit a few spin shots their way.. they will eventually hit it back to you so you can smash it, when that moment comes.. it's up to you to direct it to the other side of the table to force them to roll over.

Disclaimer: you dont have to do roll them over three times in a row, just three times in a match, just incase lol :p

Oh and for boxing champion, just try to get one knock down then don't get knocked down yourself. You should win by the judges votes. That's how I won.

If you watch my video for this i tell you to practice in target smash if you cant go cross court. Practice your timing in target smash!!!

agreed watched plenty of vids of people doing the cheevo but like a few others im hit and miss at getting the ball to go where i want.and getting power into my shots now matter how hard im hitting it. this and the bloody javelin cheevo doing my head in

Definitely play the Amateur level for this cheevo.
And the trick is to make the opponent sweat - make him go left and right and then again left and so on.
