you know the mic that comes from with the consoles, i have 2 of them. here's my problem, i was in TDU today when i was invited to join a club, after i accepted i was invited to join a voice chat which i also accepted. i could hear the guys voice through my Tv speakers while i was getting one of my mics, soon as i plugged it in i no longer heard his voice anywhere and he obviously couldn't hear my attempts to talk because he kept saying hello...... so i switched to the other mic and the exact same thing. is it normal for those headsets to not work at all? is there something i'm suppose to do on my console to enable them? i plan on getting a wireless mic sometime but i wasn't too worried about it but now i'm playing more "online" games and i want to communicate as well. any ideas or well known facts about this that'll help me?
and what kind of wireless headset should i get in the upcoming weeks?

Maybe you have to change your personal settings in your dashboard so that all voice comes through the headset or have it on mixed. Personally, I bought the M$ brand of wireless mic and it goes funny after a while and that's when I resync it or switch to my wired headset. It's alright, but not worth $60. More like $30/$40.

I also have the M$ wireless mic however I've never experienced any issues with mine other than forgetting to recharge it. I have one of the standard mics that came with the system however I hated it. For some reason I could barely hear people on it; then again I only played Halo 2 so that might have something to do with it.
Onslaught is right though Thrill, you should check your personal settings in the dashboard to see what they are set to if you haven't done so already.

well turns out my bad luck hit hard in the headset area, both of those i got with the consoles don't work period. so i broke down and traded a few games off to get me the wireless headset...... wow nice. one thing though........ i ended up having a 15 year old kid singing in my ear. that got old real fast LoL

Sorry Thrill, no real way to guard against that. Not to slam down on the youthful gamers on here or on Live but I really wish people wouldn't act out as much as some do. I had a 12 year old (I'll swear to it) chew me out during a game of Halo 2 for not carrying the flag out the way he wanted me to. I told him to shut up and scored, after the match he challenges me to one on one where I owned him, talked my own smack then he up and leaves. Now I'm not one to talk smack and for the most part I can take a lot, but it really tests my patience when gaming online and that might be why I don't play Live matches often.
